after six months of a forced layoff due to a bulging disk in between my 5th and 6th vertebrate, I'm back in the gym.

I'm in physical therapy now, mainly getting traction. The PT lady wants me to avoid lifting over the shoulders.

I was planning on doing rippetoe's, light and high rep for the first couple weeks, before starting to get my lifts back to a reasonable level. However military press is a big part of that routine. Anyone know a viable alternative to military press? Thanks.

You'll just have to hit the delts from different angles. You can do front, side and rear raises. The front raises will isolate the front delts better anyway. SS, RB

You could do inclines instead. If your incline goes up, so will your military.
