I'm going to begin loading as much of my collection of CD's on my iRiver iHP-120 (a christmas present I gave to my self) by ripping them to LAME VBR 64 MP3.

I have dozens of courses from the The Teaching Company on CD, DVD, VHS and tapes

If you can name a title from Nightingale Conant, I prob. have it in a box somewhere in my garage.

I'd like to start listing to audio books, I don't have many.

you have windows or mac? if you dl hotline from www.tracker-tracker.com (http://www.tracker-tracker.com) there are alot of free ebook and audio book servers on there.Hotline is for windows and mac, carracho is only for mac. If you dl it, let me know, ill help ya out if you have any trouble.

its definitly still active, try that site i gave you, im not sure about spyware, ive got a mac, never really worried about it, whats spyware? other programs that get put on your pc with out knowing it?

Okay I've got my server up and running on hotline with 10 gig's of hard copy files I am licenced to use. I'm using the same name over there as I am here, VOX - DEI.

Talk about a horrid GUI.

I think I'm going to get KDX since it seams to be more user friendly.

I think I'll set it up as though people I know personally will get access to my private server and people that give me access to their server as well. Why didn't I just go with FTP???

Ulter have you used win 2003 server enterprise edition? I'm thinking of getting a couple terabytes into a firewire SAN

well, i didnt mean you should set up a server, you could just get the client and go and find free servers or upload for an account. running a server is too much work, you have to have a quick connection, and it takes time before you get regulars that will hook you up with stuff. Unless you you do it all for free you have to invest way to much time setting up accounts, and then everyone just leeches and gives nothing back.

I'm setting up a VPN as well; I'm almost through troubleshooting it.

Which hotline client should I use, since I installed one of them and it had a really crappy GUI.

did you go to tracker-tracker.com? i just use the hotline client from there, the gui for the mac on is alittle old too, thats why i like carracho better, but carracho is mac only
