I start my new job bouncing tonight in the local hot spot. And I got the flu and down 15lbs from surgery!! Hope I don't have to manhandle anyone just yet, lol.
I was bummed out when the floor manager told me to check the girls bathroom, and if I see any girls playing with each other "hey didle didle, with the cat's fiddle" To ask them to stop! Damn, lol.

I think the manager told you that so he has to pay you less.

First night went good. No problems at all. Last night though, had a bunch of drunk assholes.
The place was packed, had to throw out 5 people. I get alot of respect though. Everything was handled with out major confrontation.
The manager wants me to stay. I don't drink, and get shit done quick. Plus, I don't hang out there, and my family comes first. he admires that, as he has a kid too.
Lots of freaks too. I had three woman tell me they wanted to go home with me. I just flashed the wedding ring. Didn't even phase one of them. FREAKS

I bounced at various clubs here for about 2 years.
I got tired of dealing with losers all the time and I hated staying up until 5 am 3-4 days a week. I did it while I was still in school for easy money. I wouldnt go back to doing it again. People want to sue you and the club all the time if they get hurt so be careful.

I've been bouncing for a few years now on and off and I really love it. The best thing is to not get settled in at one place. I worked at one strip club for over a year and it went from "I get paid to look at pussy all night....WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!" to "oh, tiddies...yeah that's nice if you like that kinda stuff." The benefits were great for me because when I started I was single and OMG it was so easy to get laid working there. Then I messed up and started dating a girl that worked there and it ruined it all for me. After that experience I started working for a guy who contracted out security jobs for restaraunts and bars. I liked that a lot better because I got to change clubs about every month so I didn't get tired of the same old people everynight and I didn't get any personal drama going on.....just a new drunk chick everynight.:P The only drawback was that it made having steady relationships impossible. I wouldn't cheat on a girlfriend for anything (super models and fantasy chicks aside), and that made work a drag. I couldn't really reciprocate any of the attention I got other than just saying "I'm really flattered but I'm involved." So once you take the females out of the situation then the only fun thing about the job is whooping ass. Fighting is fun when a place has enough security (atleast 2 or 3 bouncers) to get your back incase something crazy breaks out, but I got stuck on a lot of jobs by myself since I can handle myself pretty well. I spent a few months at this redneck bar working by myself before I quit. I had 4 knives pulled on me (luckily all the stupid asses that tried it were too drunk to do anything with it), and I got in the middle of an all out brawl between a group of whites and blacks (maybe 10-12 guys total). Luckily the manager and one of the bartenders where decent brawlers and we got all them out of there, but I had to take a few shots during that and I threw so many punches that my knuckles swelled up to the point I couldn't work the next night.
It can be a fun side type of job, but do yourself a favor and don't become a career bouncer. The more you do it the more likely you are to have a bad experience and especially if you've got a kid, you really don't need that. Sure the pay is decent for the hours and amount of work you do, but unless you have another job that has some insurance benefits then it's really not a great thing to be doing.
The two best words of advice for survival that I can give is this:
1) Smile, be the level-headed person in all conflicts, and talk people into doing what you want them to do instead of just punching them in the mouth and having to watch over your shoulder for their buddies or worry about them coming back and shooting you. Less stress = more fun.
2) When someone just won't listen to reason, wrap them up and carry them outside. There's fewer things that can be used against you outside (like bottles and buddies), and usually if you wrap them up pretty good and show them who the daddy is then once you get them outside they're not going to want to fuck with you and they'll leave.
Good luck bro.
