The monsters battle it out!
Donnie Thompson and Andy Bolton go head to head this weekend in Andy's backyard(UK).

I'm a big fan of both of these men, so I just hope to see some insane numbers put up.

Huge squat and bench from Donnie, and would like to see another 1000+ pull from Andy, although not sure if it can be done yet if he is pushing himself on squat and bench as well.

What do you think happens? Donnie's record total gets pushed up by either man?

I hope they both bring their A game. Bolton was off at the Arnold when I saw him. I would like to be there for this one.

I hope it goes down to the last Deadlift.

Andy had surgery on his elbow this past winter, and his bench is finally moving, or so I hear, he claims we will see 3K pretty soon.

If I were on that side of the pond, I surely would not miss this one.

Wow i cannot wait for the vids and outcome.
The 3k total will be the biggest milestone ever imo.
Huge totals trump any huge single lift imo.

Andy is getting cocky as hell about it, I hope Donnie whips his ass

I think Donnie will pull it out. Andy won't even recognize Donnie as the world record holder, I hope he kicks his ass!

I was one of the judges on Andy Boltons 1003 deadlift. (I was the red light.) I'm really interested to see how this turns out. Both these guys are terrific lifters.

I would have red lighted him to Bev. Im surprised alot of other people didnt say much about the pull being red lighted.

Thanks J. :)
He pulled it easily, and he looked great until the finish. He didn't finish with a legal lockout on my side. His hips were behind him, shoulder rolled too far forward, and knee bent. I believe he COULD have though, he looked that strong with it. It isn't at all uncommon for a lifter to lock out one side but not the other, particularly using an over/under grip. And he had good judges on all three sides.

What do you think was more impressive, Bev.... Andy picking up 1,003 pounds from the floor OR KK jumping completely over the conference table to congratulate him?

wow good for you. not to internet judge but boltons 1003 was not locked out, his grip was obviously going. looks its just a grip thing for him, he has the strength to pull a grand and more

you know so many powerlifters whine about how this is so disrespectful and blah blah blah. but lets face it, this is what the sport needs, some entertainment and COMPETITION for a change. this is the ONLY contest i've actually taken any interest in in probably the last 5 years and its because of boltons comments.
