I know we have a solid base of football fans here and while putting together my list of best NFL RB's in therealj's post I got to thinking about my favorite college players. The best thing about college ball is that the player is always from that college, pro tems may change but the guys will always have those school colors in their blood. Here's my list, let's see what you guys have:

Charles Woodson: I'm sure therealj has seen my tape and will see it again when he comes down here again of my favorite 5 mins of football coverage. Michigan vs. OSU 1998, Woodson catches a pass and just about breaks it for a TD setting up a run by Floyd, Michigan kicks to OSU and gets 2 sacks and a throw away, OSU punts and Woodson breaks it for a TD to slam the door early on OSU. Beautifull.

Ty Wheatley: My 2nd favorite Wolverine. Watching him and Ki Jana Carter go head to head in I believe 94 was amazing as was his showing in the Rose Bowl against Washington. In college he looked like he was going to break every run.

Shaun Alexander: I got to watch him play most of his senior season on TV somehow with the SEC coverage on CBS. His play against Michigan in the Orange Bowl was awesome. It felt like he scored every point for them even though they ended up losing in OT on a missed PAT of all things.

Tim Brown: I still remember his Sports Illustrated cover, "Ice T". Great reciever and return man who was a force.

Jerome Bettis: Man he was scary to watch. I was palying high school football when he was in college and I remember imagining what it would be like to try and tackle him...ouch.

Michael Vick: Since the college game can be domianted by sheer tallent he was amazing. His speed was sick and hopefully still will be. His final game against Miami with a bad ankle he's in the pocket with two linemen racing towrds him at full speed, he went from flat footed to top speed with them about 2 feet away from him and took off for a big run untouched.

Brian Bosworth: The man was a machine, lots of hype but just a crazy LB who was great to watch. Even if he was healthy he wouldn't have had much of an NFL career but his college days were sweet.

Ray Lewis: You either loved or hated Miami, that whole team was so cocky...I loved it. Lewis was there just as things were falling apart but he held true to the Miami tradition and was just a killer on the field...and off (allegedly http://anabolicfitness.infopop.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

Ricky Williams: The guy was such a horse, a man among boys in his Texas days.

Eddie George: It pains me to see him slow down and being a Michigan fan it's not easy to admit I like a Buckeye but he was great to watch in both college and the NFL. A driven player who trains harder than almost anyone else.

Well there's 10, I am racking my brain thinking that I missed someone that will pop in after I am done but here's my list. Let's hope that Michigan kills OSU. http://www.anabolicfitness.net/smileys/banana.gif

Chris Zorish: The biggest ass chewing, quaterback terrorizing defensive tackle of his college era. He was scaring everyone on the field.

Rahib Ismail: fastest fighting Irish of his era.

I was a Notre Dame fan.

Here's one I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned:

Charlie Ward - easily one of the top 5 college QB's ever. Until Mr. Accuracy Jason White came along, no one could touch Ward's accuracy numbers. In his Heisman season he had 27 td's and 4 int's.....that's just insane.

Another FSU guy that deserves some honorable mention has to be Peter Warrick. If his last season wouldn't have been marred with the whole free clothes thing I have a feeling we would all be talking about him as the best college WR ever with the possible exception of Tim Brown.

Defensively, Simeon rice when he was at Illinois, Terrel Suggs from ASU, of course Sapp, and both of the Boulware brothers when they were at FSU. DB's are lead hands down by Woodson and Prime Time, no arguement there.
