View Full Version : Cranny's transformation over the last 10yrs., lol

I've worked out for the last 18yrs. with weights though only serious for the last 6. Prior to that I would work out but I hadn't a clue as to what I was doing. I was more into cardio w/ running and mountain biking. Then I got hooked on the life of BB'ing and I love it. It's my true passion. And I still have a long way to go. AF board has no doubt helped me recently physically as well as mentally in this great journey. I am grateful to all of you w/ your help along the way. I was going through some old pics the other day and ran accross some I had forgotten about. For the most part I laughed aloud but I also didn't realize the progression that has taken place over the years. Nothing earth shattering but decent I would say. So I thought I would share a few. The first is in 99' w/ my boys. Where does time go? They're 15 and 17 now, geez. The second pic is in 03'. Third is 05'(getting there, lol), 4th pic is summer of 07'. And last but not least 1 day out before last years comp in August. Thanks again for the help you fine people have given me. I'm no where near done learning and growing and I couldn't think of a better place to keep on keeping on.

I would +1 that statement.

Incredible, Cran. Truly inspiring.

You know something they (the mags and sites and infomercials etc) always try and sell ya on the 10, 12, 15, 20 week transformations and then you get disappointed in the results..... real results are forged over time and are jaw dropping.

Ridiculous development bro. Just shows what time and diligence will do for a person. You went from an average looking Joe to a beast and you did it in the middle ages of your life. Awsome! Totally awsome!

Thanks all! Much appreciated:). It's been a great ride so far.

No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

Pure Hawtness - whoot.

Cranny you have done such an amazing job. Its funny how the older we get the BETTER we get, lol. I think living a fit and active life as we do makes such a huge difference in alot of things - hair, skin, features, attitude, etc etc (except weeks out the attitude sucks). You look so much better now, I love the last 2 pics well love is a strong word, haha, but I mean you look good with a tiny tiny and I mean tiny bit fluff and super shredded lean!

Your wife and family must be so proud of you :cheer:

honestly Cranny, the beach pic i think is the best pic of you. I gave up the idea of competing years ago, not because I couldnt, but for alot of other reasons. If you have ever read any of my posts you know that I still prep for photoshoots every now and then and pretty much get into competition shape including last week prep, and I am happiest, the most comfortable, and get the most compliments when I am around 10% BF, rather than under that. Not that this has anything to do with your goals since I know you compete, or did compete, but I have debated about this with myself for years on whether I look better shredded at 6-8% BF and little water, or holding a little more fat and not looking so dry. I truly believe that people look at you more like your an attention seeker when you are that shredded, and I believe the average population looks at you more like a human that just works hard and bodybuilding isnt your life when you are holding a little bit more fat like the beach pic of you. Hopefuly you get what Im saying, haha. I think I need a bagel with extra sugar and cinnamin right now.

Ive had zero carbs today and have 2 weeks until a shoot so my mind always thinks crazy shit like this, didnt meant to go off topic a little, but just wanted to explain why I thought the beach pic was the best one you posted, didnt want you to think I was taking anything away from your pre-comp pic.

Dam, if there was an AF award for most run-on sentences in one post I think I just won it. Zero carbs just makes me completely retarted, ha.

LOL @ you rambling. Man can I relate when hard core dieting. I feel you bro, I know what you're saying and I agree. I think it's a good conditioning level. It's certainly something to be proud of. You look better than most at the beach, but you wouldn't want to walk out on stage or have a photo shoot just yet. The diet is more palatable at this level of BF for me at least. I can maintain that BF% by eating clean 80% of the time. So it's not near as stressful as when competing.
I know you say you won't compete but you sure should at least once IMO. I have always admired your physique since back at EF; awesome symmetry. Good luck w/ the shoot and go eat some carbs would ya?

Lol, bud that's an honor for you to be hating. I've always admired that sick avi of yours. It's always been inspiration for me since way back to the EF days.
Now that we're through blowing wind up our skirts;), thanks bro. It's not been easy but soooo worth it in all. I wish you would commit to a show some time in the near future. I'm telling you bro you would be great at it. Maybe one day.
Thanks again all for the props, much appreciated.

I just saw this thread, since I have been out with my surgery and all, so I am late to the party, but dang, thats some awesome work right there. The beach photo is phenomenal, your really have done something to be proud of.

The progression is very neat to see. Its funny how you put in so much work in the beginning, but most of the results take several years to really show up how we want them too.

And now I am going to have to search all your posts to see what it is you are doing with your training

OH MY GAWD :surprised: that is just awe inspiring

One thought that occurred to me..will the majority of the population those pictures would have run in reverse..beach pic would be a pic you would normally see from some guy in his 20s...then the pic with the kids when he got older and stopped training  you would make most young guys jealous for sure :wiggle: :poser:
