Have your protein and carbs after your cardio. I like to stay between 60-70% of max heart rate for 30-40min if I do cardio.

protein immediately after workout..

if you do cardio 3 x a week and take in good amount of protein in your diet , you wont burn much muscle and will retain all the muscle

Any time is fine - the idea is doing cardio in empty stomach burns more fat...

I asked the same question earlier this week and JG1 and BDR said after cardio. From seeing their results, I wouldn't worry about any muslce waisting from taking it in post cardio VS. post weights, pre cardio.

Also, it would seem if you took the nutrients in pre-cardio you would no longer be doing the cadio on an empty stomach/glycogen depleted state. And would be using the carbs as your energy source vs fat.

having a protein shake with carbs after training and before cardio is not going to be beneficial, you will see the best results while weight training, then doing your cardio, then having your protein/carbs.

I wish I had the energy for cardio after lifting. LOL, I think it sucks I have to walk a block to the trainy after the gym. :(

You take a train to the gym?

Yep, to the gym, and then home from the gym. Then again, I work in downtown Chicago and live in the suburbs, my gym is downtown too.

Mass transit ftw.

I do my cardio right after I lift, although since I am contest prepping right now, I do it in the morning too. I have to kick that up a notch, been slacking. I do about 30 each session.. Will go up to 45 about 3 weeks out!

Another vote for protein after weights and cardio.
