What can be done about a broken toe? From my long list of injuries I believe there is nothing that can really be done about a broken digit. A finger can be splinted, but I don't think a toe can have anything done to it.

But to let you know was doing inclines with the 120lb dumbbells, well went to let them down after the set and the damn thing landed on my pinky toe. Damn weights. Well I put pressure on it and you can feel it pop. I don't think the bone is crushed in it because it still is a solid and not smushy, but then again that could be the swelling. :)

Oh here is a picture just for your viewing pleasure. :drinking:

Not much can be done. That is, for normal broken toes. There are some that can be pinned or wired, but that's usually more rare. My mom broke hers several years ago. She did it so bad that they just removed the bone (little toe). She doesn't have problems with it, and that's not a normal treatment these days.

Wear good shoes to kind of splint the toe. That'd be the best advice I could give. Keep an eye on it, see a doc if it doesn't show improvement in a couple weeks.

LOL...I'm not trying to be called 9 toe. Ya...if you crush the bone beyond repair they take the fragments out to avoid further damage. Not sure if the bone is still together or not. Its just a solid mass right now due to all the blood in the area.

For the record, you can tape a toe to splint it, but good shoes can do the same thing.

I was going to let it sit out today and ice it to get the swelling down. It won't fit back in my shoe right now. Going to tape some support to the bottom and the side for support. Sad thing...tomorrow is leg day.

Yeah, good shoes and/or tape.

If ya think it is fractured or broken, you can try to tape it back together (well, sort of) so it may heal properly.

Ice and well, that is about it as you know.

Good luck my man!!!

You should really get your toe x-rayed.

You should really get your toe x-rayed.

That's Monday if the swelling hasn't gone down or color change. I talked to my doctor and sent him the pictures of the toe. Hes giving it till Monday, if no better come in and the will xray it to see if its just broke or crushed.

aahepp,

My first week of college ball my big toe broke, and looked like yours. Mine was shattered in 24 pieces but couldnt tell because of the swelling and everything. Again nothing you can do really except watch the color change.

On a side note my sister took me to home depot to match the green in my toe to paint cause she wanted that color in her house. Hahhahahaha
