Default Movies that jump through the story too fast...

I rented "The Other Boleyn Girl".. I read the book & loved it (big history buff) - but this movie is plowing thru the story so fast it is really hard to follow.

Almost as distracting as movies like "The Blair Witch Project" where there's no plot to blow thru but the movie itself is jumpy.

I haven't seen the Other Boleyn Girl, but what you describe is a pretty common problem in Hollywood, particularly with period pieces and historical fiction. For the most part, separating what is important in a story sense is tough when you have a ton of material to sift through. If you try to crank it out too fast, it can cause issues.

Try watching Memento. The movie is shown in reverse, it starts at the end and moves along until the beginning.

It is a fantastic movie - the best part was that structure itself.
