Default Homemade protein cookies

Anybody every tried to make oatmeal protein cookies, or something like them. It sounds like a pretty good idea. I figure that if you could find a good ratio of protein, to carbs, to fat, they could serve as an excellent meal replacement... or at least a between meal snack. Anybody?

RECIPE Wishes Granted!

Courtesy of SBT here on the boards:

"Protein Cookies"
Servings: 1

Ingredients:
- 1/2 c oats (e.g. Quaker)
- 1 scoop protein powder (e.g. Cinnamon, Chocolate, Vanilla, etc.)
- ~3 Tbsp water
- Spices of choice (e.g Splenda, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, etc.)

1. Dry measure oats and protein into small mixing bowl. Mix to combine.
2. Add desired spices. Mix to combine.
3. Add 3 Tbsp of water to dry mix. Mix well. Consistency should be dough-like.
4. Place a small piece of wax paper on a microwaveble plate.
5. Using a spoon or ice cream scooper, create 4-5 small dollops of dough and place them onto the plate.
6. Microwave for 1 minute. Let cool momentarily and enjoy!

Note: You could add some ANPB to this if you wanted. The more oats/protein you add, the more water you will need, but seriously take it 1/2 a Tbsp at a time as you add the water. Too much water will make it too runny. Also, watch the microwave timing -- even 1:30 will make the cookies too tough/dry.

Lastly, don't make more than what you're going to eat in one sitting. These probably don't keep well like protein pancakes or other foods would.

It definitely takes awhile to eat these but it suits a craving and makes for a nice snack. I personally don't like oatmeal cooked, but I like oatmeal cookies and OATS... so this worked great for me.

I have made these a few times and I really like them. It's just hard to find a 100% clean cookie reminiscent chew/texture and for me these fill the void.

I like them pre workout as I usually have a whey and oats shake anyways!

Thanks Cakers.

I tried these last night - they're very good. These also make great breakfast/snack bars. I doubled the protein, added a few packs of Splenda, and sprinkled in cinnamon. I cooked the entire blob as one piece and took it to work today. It's not much different than commercially available oatmeal bars, but with much better nutrient content.
