Hey, look, I'm in a little paper.

East Orlando Sun (http://www.eosun.com/catalog/catalog.php?catalog_id=62&start_page=13)

It's on pages 13 and 14 of the e-paper (page B1 and B2, the Lifestyle section) of the real paper.

I think it came out alright. It has the necessary info, but I'm a bit miffed that he didn't put my Before picture in there. :dunno: Isn't that weird? I mean, I'd want to see the before picture of someone who dropped that much weight, but maybe now I'll get emails just because people want to see it!!!

And there's a LOT of type-o's which drives me crazy... but other than that, it's not too bad.

That's so neat. I agree though about not putting in the before. That's pretty dumb. It's a great story and seeing the physical change just ices the cake.

Thank you everyone. ;)

The print copy was in my driveway just now when we got home from dinner with family.

Makes me nerrrrrvoussssss :ohnoes:

And seriously, WHY is my before picture not in it? I don't get that, seriously... but again... we'll see if I get a response from that tomorrow. I might not because it's a human interest piece... but I might. I think the before/after would have been (for sure) the best way to grab a reader's attention but who knows.

See if the gym will put you in their newsletter maybe? Submit before and after or show them to the MKTG director, I cannot see who they would want to run your story.

:rose:

Congrats!

Yeah, I do help a few people in person but it's in a similar fashion to how I help those on the boards. Get people going, send emails, follow up, etc. I'll write up a diet or a shopping list -- and obviously take a few hours and go to the gym to show proper form, how to find equipment, etc. That's just one type of program - I've been lucky enough so far the few people I have helped don't need me to be there more than once every few weeks. They are disciplined that way (like many of you are here -- get y'all goin' and you're off!)

Now if new people were to contact me, then there's a variety of things I can do to help them out, including weekly session(s) in person, etc. It all depends on each person's experience with fitness (or lack thereof).

I'm new to this ;) And I am planning to take the CSCS exam this summer :ohnoes: MAJOR undertaking -- cannot even begin to explain how effin' hard that test is going to be... and I'm a decently smart cookie.

Wow t-cakes you must be very proud. You have came along way congras. on the article you deserve that.
Thank you!!!

Oh and speaking of someone I need to go to the gym with to teach... you'd be one of them!!! :D I need to meet up with you soon to really get you rollin' again. Now that your schedule and my schedule seem to be opening up a bit with our jobs, we can work something out sooner than later.

So proud of YOU!!!!!!!!!!
:rose: Thank you!!! *beaming*

Thanks for the tips and for the support.

I workout in at a chain gym that 1. doesn't have a newsletter and 2. has in-house trainers, or at least these gyms lease out space to another company so THEIR trainers can be there.

Well for the interview, the editor wanted photos of me TRAINING someone. That was hard to pull together because like I said, right now my main focus is teaching. I'm just on the cusp of being anywhere NEAR a "trainer" person -- so anyhoo, we couldn't do the pics at MY gym because management wouldn't allow it b/c corporate won't allow it b/c I don't work for that in-house training company.

I didn't even bother to ask my gym, ya' know? I like some of those guys in there and I don't want to rub anyone the wrong way for some pictures. So this other independent gym let us train and take pics there (for the publicity).

So I think this is as far as my mini-fame goes for now. It's laughable but hey, it's something. Just kinda neat to be recognized like that.

I'm glad Ulter fixed it up! :) I didn't know that was a problem. I was wondering why I sent it to my parents and no one said anything back!!! I bet they had the same problem, so I now re-sent them the file.

Thank you for doing that.

Very Cool Pineapple! Congratulations!!!!
Thanks!!!!

I swear I look better NOW than a few weeks ago when I did that. Must be the running and the Gatorade. ;) I just think I look uber-fluffy! I'm sure the fact that my cheat day was 24 hours before those photos didn't help ONE BIT (I didn't know he was takin' pictures until that day).

What a GREAT article!! Awesome!!

:drama:
SERIOUSLY!!!! Amen that! I'm just thankful for SOMETHING, but man the before pic would have sealed the deal! We're guessing he scanned what I gave him and it was too washed-out to use in print, so he didn't. It's the only reason we can think of that would make sense!!!

Ulter, thank you for doing that. I sent the link to my parents and they were like "WHAT, it's too small to read!"

It's hard for people to see the navigation tools in the corner-- they're kind of hiding.

Braggin' about you all over the place up here, girly.

Aw, I'm glad you sent it to them. How cool. Yeah, I was super happy Ulter noticed the size-issue on that and fixed it. :)

I still haven't heard from my own mother or brother about this... :dunno:
