ok i see where everyone says steel cut are better? WHY? taste? or is there better nutrition. cause the nutritional data on the organic steel cut i just bought is identical. plus, it's really unrealistic to spend 30 minutes couple times a day cooking oatmeal. hehe. but it might be a nice treat couple times a week.
Lower GI....but really, does it make a difference. I'll stick w/ my quick oats.

i see i was off on the time. so i just kinda smoked my first quarter cup. quarter cup serving size, hehe, but directions for cooking say for 1 cup of oats and 4 cups of water. they taste good. :) what does that mean, lower gi?
Glycemic Index.
Higher the GI the faster it converts to blood sugar...higher GI higher insulin spike

ahhh, so oatmeal will still cause insulin to rise. so you could even use oatmeal for pwo carbs, i seen someone saying they did this? or am i off?

Lot of people use oats for their PWO carbs. I just try and use the best possibe option which seems to be the WM.
All carbs will cause an insulin repsonse.
