Well, I noticed in about the 3rd grade that when i ran i would get massive cramping right on or near my heart. As Time progressed to about the 7th grade, I asked a docter and some coaches, along with friends what there oopinion on this matter was, and the answer i got was that it was due to me being out of shape (which at the time i was and a little on the chunky side)...Now after staying active, fit, and healthy for over 9 months the cramping just reappeared as I started doing running on the treadmill and doing random joggs around town.
Has anyone ever had any similar problems. The pain gets to the point where it makes me honestly collaspe to my knee's and feels like something is squeezing my heart. It doesn't bother me when I've done, boxing, martial arts, lifting or anything, just when i run for over a period of 15 to 20 minutes...and it comes at once?
any thoughts?

I had a friend that took diet pills and had this happen a bunch of times when they went running, was finally the reason they stopped taking them. I doubt this could be the reason for you since you had it since the 3rd grade but just throwing it out there.

Hmm, I get that feeling, but it hits me much more quickly, mine is exercise induced asthma. I was told when I was a kind I was just out of shape too - didn't get diagnosed until I was an adult.
Is it any worse when it is cold outside when you run? My doc said it was an indicator for exercise induced asthma.
do yourself a favor & find a good cardiologist.

I agree. Go complain and get your heart checked out. I don't think it's a heart problem but you should go find out.

I have inverted T-waves with my heart and yes it gets worse when its colder outside. I used to live in Cali, but live in MT and it did start to get worse when we moved here. But, I'll talk to my docter here and see if maybe he thinks its asthma or maybe because of my inverted T-waves, making it a heart problem.
Thank you for your insight~

I'm with Ulter and Nate. However, you may want to check out a doc who looks at your lungs as well. You said it only bothers you when running, but not when you do anything else.
Boxing is very cardio-heavy, so perhaps it's the up-and-down motion + extended cardio that's causing it. Perhaps the cartilidge near your sternum is also acting up when you do this. If the cardiologist and lung doctor don't have any answers, try a rheumatologist...but see the others first. Good luck, tell us what happens.

well I went to the doctor and it turns out my Potassium is low. The spasums are happening due to slight dehydration through out the day and as i said low potassium. and i was getting them in my calf as well. But its been a couple days and able to actually run and get into it now.

I sat there with a balnk stare when they told me that honestly, but hey :D its true i really dont eat a lot of foods that are high in potassium and i do lack hydration through out the day.
So hopefully this is it eh?

I went into a-fib from low potassium at one point. Low P levels arnt anything to mess with along with dehydration. Be careful and def visit the cardiologist frequently to find the EXACT cause of your symps.
