For those of you that have elbow pain, where do you feel it?

I always assumed it would be more on the outside of the elbow, i.e. at the point of the elbow when bent.

I have been experiencing pain on the inside of the elbow just above the crease...damn...I'm not explaining this well.

If you hold your arm out in front of you, palm up, like you are doing a preacher curl, and then lift your forearm up, the pain is about one inch up towards the bicep from the point of rotation, or the crease in your skin on the inside of the elbow.

I suspect that is an attachment point of some muscle or tendon, but I don't know. I also suspect that I may be exacerbating this by less than perfect form. I found myself doing DB curls the other day with heavy weights and really snapping the weight at the bottom of the lift to get it moving. (Yeah...I know...I'm dropping the weight today and going for a smoother lift.)

Could be the brachialis muscle from your description. The bicep is made up of two head (bi) and the brachialis is underneath the upper head. Probably just tendonitis. Ice and ibuprofin are your best bet, with a little massage thrown in to increase bloodflow/healing. Surely can be painful though! Very easy to blow a bicep, so use caution with it, not only on training but also in everyday use.

Also where you are describing the pain is your bicep tendon itself. I should know...already had to have that repaired in 2007. :)

Ice it right after lifting. Also start going lighter if the pain keeps up. I kept lifting and lifting because my old ortho said it was just tendinitis. Well after 2 years of dealing with it, I went to a different ortho and it was torn. When he went in it was 94% tore and about to release. He endo-buttoned it back through to bone, and it good as new now. Was about a 5 month lay off before I could resume normal lifting. Light lifting was in 4.
