View Full Version : Consensus on Hormonal tests to be done.
All-
I would like to get everyones input on what you think the essential initial blood tests for individuals on or contemtplating HRT/TRT should be; for that matter those on higher cycling dose's as well. Lets not take cost into the consideration just testing. In other posts, members state they get tested for numerous reasons weather it be a problem related to estrogen or prolactin issues etc so i thought it would be a good idea to atleast get a baseline of what tests someone should ask for. Please add, subtract as you see fit.:)
I'll Start:
Total test
E1
E2
LH
FSH
Prolactin

My doctor runs these for blood tests:
• Total Testosterone
• Bioavailable Testosterone (AKA “Free and Loosely Bound”)
• Free Testosterone (if Bioavailable T is unavailable)
• DHT
• Estradiol (specify the Extraction Method, or “sensitive” assay for males)
• LH
• FSH
• Prolactin
• Cortisol
• Thyroid Panel
• CBC
• Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
• Lipid Profile
• PSA (if over 40)
• IGF-1 (if HGH therapy is being considered)
If doing a urine test from rhein labs you get

does an igf-1 test require a muscle plug to analyze? that sounds shitty!

Lab-Corp can do an IGF-1 via a blood test. Not sure how other labs do it.
