This past Sunday I walked 30 miles for Cancer research, raised a few thou. and it was a very good experience. At the 17 mile mark, I was bleeding between the toes and I had a few quarter size blisters on my heels and toe areas. The organizer told me to stop and ride, nope wasn't going to happen. I switched socks and sneaks several times, but I guess my feet weren't prepared. Every step of the last 13 miles was painful but I had to finish for those I dedicated the walk to, Cancer victims from my family and some other freinds family members. More than 1/2 of the people could not finish. It snowed several times and I was emotional several times wondering if I could finish.
I took my Cardio Breeze three times during the day and thought about how playing hockey all winter and jogging and lifting helped , but I should have trained a little differently. All in all a great experience. Just wanted to share.
Blistered feet,

Thank you.
Hub's dad died from cancer, and because of an unexplained remission, hub's mom became to only woman in america to survive a particular stage 4 small cell carcenoma in her lungs (it was a grapefruit sized mass.)
Because cancer was an issue with both of his parents, I always worry about hub's future. I appreciate anything that is done toward cancer research.

footwear is EXTREMELY important in marathon walks.
congrats on finishing under your own steam under those conditions. Dedication to a good cause.
(after re-reading, guessing that wet weather may have been more the issue than footwear)
