Default Shin Splints (for juicy)

What youre talking about is called shin splints, and a lot of runners experience them.

9 times out of 10 it is due to a muscular imbalance in the lower leg. The best remedy (long term) is to do calf raises with the heel dipping below the front of the foot (so your toes look like theyre pointing up), or do some extra sets with just that part of the motion. I dont know anyone who that hasnt helped...

Any other advice? I've never worked calves much, but I'll definately add some calf work to see what happens. I'm one of the gifted few whose calves grow well from a whole lot of nothing. Shin splints suck! I haven't ran in awhile, sometimed after a layoff they come back in 2-3 weeks, sometimes it takes months.

When I used to run I would get these from time to time. Try icing the shin and drinking some milk or add in some additional calcium.
