When doing 2 muscle groups a day what split do you people prefer?
I train chest and biceps during a day and back and triceps during a day. I have seen people doing the opposite but wondered how good of a workout your second muscle group is getting being it was being used in the previous lift.
As an example; when doing your chest in pressing exercises you are also using your triceps as synergists. I was wondering wouldn't it be better if you trained a muscle that wasn't being used already to get the most out of the workout.
Just a thought. I have been doing my split and it seems to be working for my body, just didn't know how others did their splits.
haven't done a typical split like that in a while....i train 3 days a week usually mon/wed/fri and lift what i feel like i'm in the mood for...usually eveything except for arms although i do make sure i get in like 4-6 sets per week at some point.

I believe the same theory, actually.
My current split is 1 per day... but the previous split I was shooting for the most opposite body parts I could do. Shoulders/Hams, Back, Tris/Quads, Chest/Calves, Bis/Abs... it was something similar to that. I had decent gains but I found myself slacking on my legs because I was hitting them twice per week.
IMO, all splits are fair game as long as your body isn't adapting... and when it does, change it up!

Well my split is
Day1 Chest and Bis
Day2 Shoulders
Day3 Back and Tris
Day4 Legs
Then I start the process over the following day. Right now I am not giving myself any days of rest unless I start to feel fatigued, then I will give myself 1 or 2 days rest. The first go around will be the heavy day then the second time I hit them it will be a light day with more reps. Abs are every two days since I am not really trying to define any muscles right now just trying to build them. This split has worked well for me for now, but if I start to see plateaus then I will change my split up.
Here's mine.
1) Chest/Abs
2) Back/traps
3) Delts/calves
4) Quads/Hams
5) Bis'/Tri's/forearms
6) Off
7) Off
I really like it. I've been training a little more volume lately and it's been working well.

You and I are on the same schedule, but it is time I mix it up,
Don’t know what or how, would like to do everything in 4 days, always use to, but now, with cardio, it just seems too much.

Ive kinda gotten fond of doing
chest/back
bi's/tri's
shoulders/Legs
It was very hard for the first month doing chest and back in the same day and hit them hard but it got easier. I grew pretty fast.

Are you getting shoulders?
yes i hit my shoulders when i do my delts. i go at a very rapid pace usually rest no more than 5-10 sec between sets, so my muscles exhaust quickly. ill go heavy one week once a month or once every 6 weeks.
