I read as much as I can on strength/mass and have come across a couple great books that some of you might want to check out.

"Supertraining" by Mel Siff....By far the best book ever written on strength and mass training. It's a hard read if you don't have a good foundation of knowledge, but what a great resource. Everything you need to know about strength and mass is in this book. I learn new stuff everyday from it.

"The Science and Practice of Strength Training" by Vladimir Zatsiorsky.....The WSB people love this book and for a reason. It is less extensive than "Supertraining" but it really is a great mass and strength book.

"The Poliquin Principals" by Charles Poliquin... I don't really like Charles as I find him arrogent. I attended a seminar of his and was impressed by his knowledge, but not his personality. Anyway, this book really took my training and made me think about it. There are many great ideas and theories about training that I hadn't discovered until reading this book. An easy read and very insightful, expecially for the newer bodybuilder.

"Serious Strength Training" by Tudor Bompa and Mario De Pasquale.... This is a good book on learning how to start periodization of your workouts. I don't agree with some of the theories, but they are interesting and can really help you in your training.

"Sports Stretch" by Michael J. Alter....A very good illustrated book on stretching for sports including weightlifting.

I also read anything by Dave Tate or Louis Simmons.

I hope these are added to your library as they have made my training better over the last year couple of years.

I didn't post this but I ordered your books from Amazon a couple days after you posted this. But then I know how much you know about training.

Have "Supertraining" and also "Facts and Fallacies of Fitness" also by Mel Siff and they are both great books. I recommend them for everyone. I'll be getting the otheres you mentioned. Thanks.

I had Get Buffed by King and thought it was good, but it "disappeared" from my fitness center http://anabolicfitness.infopop.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

If anyone wants to pick up a basic sports med book, the most often used is by Arnheim and Prentice "Basic Principles in Athletic Training" or some title similiar.

Hey Killer...what does Get Buffed go into as far as nutrution, training, etc...is it basically a bunch of routines, or does it explain how and why you should do things a certain way?...and what else does it say.

I will try to remember. I read it over a year ago. I think it mostly talks about routines and exercises. I do not remember much about nutrition. It had a really good explanation of the deadlift that made alot of sense.

Sorry cannot be of more help. I wish I had my copy to review for you!

enkai....Poliquin principles I have no idea. I think it is out of print. You might want to check on Amazon and see if they can find it for you.

Check this link out for the supertraining contents. If it doesn't work, goto the supertraining group site and register.

Hopefully one of these days I'll get to read those books.

Here's two books that I have that were recommended by "Iron Addict". They are both by Stuart McRobert. One is named Brawn, and the other is Beyond Brawn. They are very interesting reads and I really wish I got these books when I first started training. Here is his site if you want to look into other stuff he's written:
