Default Kidneys?????

I don't know if I am having problems with my right kidney or just a pulled muscle. Have dull ache just below my ribcage on the right side of my back with the occasional sharp twinge. Have been peeing like crazy for the last week and it is sometimes kind of dark. I always pee alot due to the water intake but this has been every hour during the day and have to get up 2-3 times before I fall asleep and then a couple more times during the night. I am taking in 250g protein per day, 10mg anavar, multi vitamin, b complex, saw palmetto, glucosamine, alpha lipolic acid, chromium picolinate, topical yohimbine hcl and 1 adipokinetics late afternoon. I don't feel unwell. What do you think????

I didn't do well in anatomy. But you would have a very big kidney problem if the pain is where your liver is and then runs around to your back where you kidneys usually reside. Sounds more muscular to me.

LOL Ulter - all the pain is in my back ( below my ribs in the back), guess I didn't explain that very well.

do you still have a gall bladder??? the reason i ask that is because thats about where i started to have the pain right before i had my gall bladder removed. usually the pain is in the front but mine was in the back due to the fact that i had tons of gall stones all bottled up in the neck of the gall bladder.i don't think i urinated any more than usual but that is where i started to have pain. the pain started out as just annoying then became really bad after about a week or so of just ignoring it. couldn't hurt to get checked out.

Default Hi, I'm a Medical student(3rd year)

Hello,
Sorry tp hear that you don't feel well...It's possible that you do have a kidney problem...is the urine cloudy? Are you having pain when you urinate? What kind of "dark" is the urine? Are you taking any Cranberry concentrate?(high doses of this may help...). You may have a UTI (urinary tract infection) which is just working it's way back up into your kidney>>>In an case GET TO A DOC NOW! Just get your urine lab-ed and see if your in need of some antibiotics..OK? And get a blood test if that comes back negative for bacteria...OK? Better safe than sorry....
Feel better soon!

What Doc Mom said. No point in guessing! Almost all kidney probs are without major symptoms in the early stages. In the later stages they will let you know without a doubt!! Most likely as harsh curves said it is a probably an urinary tract infection which is easily treated with antibiotics. If it's more than that then you'll want to know one way or another. On a personal note, I don't think the symptoms you've described sound like kidney failure so don't get yourself stressed over it. Just have it checked out professionally (and be as honest with your GP as you can).

Default Im not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.

Definatly sounds like a kidney infection!
Get it checked out right away, and if your doctor doesnt know you use, I wouldnt bother to tell him/her. It wont affect the diagnosis, and unfortunatly many doctors have a tendancy to become quite closed minded when they find out about gear use.

If you arent a "go to the doctors" type ansd prefer to self medicate, an antibacterial would be in order (bactrim (sp?) Im thinking).

Ive never had a urinary tract infection, but Ive self medicated quite a few other infections. But if its getting real bad you should go in and get it taken care of (either way you should go in really... Im just too lazy).

Took the self med route as soon as it was suggested that I go to the doc - I had a refill on a bladder infection med from a year ago, upped the water intake and drank a bunch of cranberry juice and I'm all better. Thanks guys.

YES! Self medicating is my personal favorite I even put on a little white doctors coat and walk around feeling all self important before I give myself a prescription. Sometimes I check myself for a hernia... 3 or 4 times. We wont get into that though.
