Yes....it was me. And commercial modeling pays very well....but it is very difficult to get into. It took me three years and a large investment in my portfolio, etc before I started actually earning money. I could've gotten there sooner, had I been able to go on more castings, etc, but I was only able to pursue it part-time. The baby will be in school full time in Sept and I will be able to pound the pavement with more frequency. The industry standard for getting paid for print is anwhere from 30 - 90 dyas. First the client must pay the agency, then the model must wait for the agency to cough their money up. FINALLY, the agency coughed up the money! A commercial model can get paid anywhere from $125 for a print job (one hour's work) to several thousand (day's pay - and that is WITH YOUR CLOTHING ON)...depending on the client and the assignment. Also a model can earn money by posing for photogs for images for thier portfolio. The industry standard is 75$/hr and up for swimwear and lingerie/implied nudity and 100$/hr for artistic nudes....minimum 3 hrs work. A model can also earn $ for hair and trade shows and promotions. There the pay is not all that great, but still not bad for standing around "looking pretty". For that particular job I got paid $750 (the client payed me extra...I guess they were happy w/me, tee-hee). I worked 4 hours.....true there was an 1 1/2 commute each way, but still, that's not bad for a day's pay and it truly is a job that I enjoy. Thank you so much for your kind words. I am truly sorry that I have not been around as of late - got A LOT of SHTUFF on my plate. I do think about you all very often though, and it brings a smile to my face.
