I am a bodybuilder trying to add mass through powerlifting workouts.

In my last max day i used knee straps for the first time (usually i just use a knee cap ) And i was able to squat way beyond my usual lifts.

Today was my reps day for legs and i felt a acute pain in the middle of my right knee. Is it because of the knee straps that i used? If not what else could be the reason?

Pls tell me the correct way to use knee straps.

Thanks everyone in advance

Knee straps? WTF are those? Do you mean knee wraps, as in a 2 meter long piece of super ace bandage type material you wrapped around your knee 6-8 times?

The only point of knee wraps is to lift more weight I don't think it will help you develop the added thickness you are looking for.

If you are having knee issues I would immediately determine the problem and do whatever sort of rehab needed to fix it ASAP. I would also buy a set of neoprene knee sleeves to keep the knee joint warm.

When I was bb, we would use knee wraps on the last one or two sets. We only used them when we were trying weights that we never tried before. Branch Warren uses them and he's got the biggest legs in bb. Use them sparingly and grow!!!
