Default Low Carb Update

I decided to keep my updates here if you all don't mind too much.

Today was the first morning in years I woke up and did not have an immediate OVERWHELMING urge for sugar. I was very very surprised. The last couple of years my breakfast usually consisted of a large glass of very sweet tea and a little debbie or 2 doublestuff oreo's. I didn't really enjoy them but the sugar craving was so strong I just can't express how strong. Even after a 2 hour nap I would awake with uncontrollable sugar cravings as well as waking from a dead sleep in the middle of the night shove down a twinkie and go right back to sleep.

So you can only imagine the withdrawels I am having. I am staying around 150g-200g per day since I was eating over 1000g/day. I am sleeping all night and also having a 1-2 hour nap in the afternoon. I'm not sleep deprived thats for sure.

I think you to post this just so I'll go nuts reading it.

WoMan, HOW IN THE HELL did you get to where you are eating like you did?!?!?!?!?

Anyway, keep it up - and it's all down hill from here.

Good to hear you're surviving and still on track. After I cut the sugar out of my diet I had tons of energy and never even needed an afternoon nap! Not only that but the bloated look from holding too much H20 bound to sugar molecules was gone!

Keep it up. You should feel great on 150-200g/day.

I think that you posted on elite fitness before that you estimate that you consume 1000g of sugar a day. That seems like a hell of alot to me to look like you do. Are you sure that you're not overestimating...

Believe me I am probably under estimating
the amount of carbs I was eating. This stuff was in no way real food! candy(packages of skittles) and mountain dews 4-5/day, lasagna, spagetti, homemade brownies and chess squares ! My god I bought my very own cotton candy maker and a case of flavorings! I am one of those eaters who gets on a certain food kick and will eat almost nothing but that food for days on end. I got on a little debbie and krispy creme donut kick a few weeks back! And you KNOW KK donuts just melt in your mouth so you can't eat just one! I ordered dessert before dinner on many occasions! I love the taste of sugar the sweeter the better. Good old fashioned lard icing! Ya see I sound like a druggy jones'n. It's just pitiful! I know you all get tired of me talking about food but just bare with me I'm on the wagon and I'm not falling off!
I'll look for the funny pict IG made of me and post it!

Does anybody (Lobo) know anything about Splenda - says its made from sugar but has 0 calories? Damn - it tastes like sugar. Oh well, it is probably better to just bite the bullet like Tn and get over the taste for the stuff.

Yeah krispy kremes are hard to turn down. Especially when they're hot. You barely have to chew them at all. Anyway were you eating all this during your before pictures? I can't imagine that you look like you do eating all of that...

Temple: Splenda (aka sucralose) is basically chlorinated sugar (no effect on nervous system, insulin secretion or CHO metabolism, poor absorption). The following link will give you some information on it. Keep in mind that long term studies have not been performed so you need to decide if it's for you.

Splenda

Artifical sweeteners are usually misunderstood. The amounts that humans would need to injest to produce the toxic effects can be rediculously large (in relation to what was tested on rats) unless you are one of some that are hypersensitive to the chemical. I work in the food industry and use the product in some applications and most likely you have had some of the items on the market that use splenda in their formulations.
