Default Thurs morning I broke my neck kinda sorta.....

Well, after recovering from a torn hamstring (MRI showed partial tear in upper 1/3 of hammy) 1 DEC I've been moving around pretty good. Better and sooner than expected.

Thurs morning my unit does weekly combatives training. long story short I was in a bottom position. I weigh 215 and the other guy 235. He was cranking on my neck as I was pusing away. when I tried to brige and roll It felt like I was "stabbed with an ice pick".

I maneuverd out and he cross mounted me. I went to bride and roll again but then my left side went numb and couldn't move. Right then everyone new something was wrong because I just stopped and staired at the ceiling.

I was on a backboard and C collar for 3 hours. Did X-rays, MRI and Catscan. they found a crack in the top portion of my C7 vertbrea.

I have to wear a C-collar for the next 8-12 weeks. I had to do another MRI yesturday afternoon to see if the C7 is just cracked on top or top and bottom.

8 weeks from now is when I go to Afghanistan which is really cutting it close if I can go and is so what i will be able to to when over there.

I know "TIME" is gonna be the biggest factor for healing from this. Some of my buddies said be thankful I've been on HGH for a while now and make sure I stay on it because it certainly wont hurt the situation. Besides time, GH, and current use of Var and test, is there anything that could possibly help speed things up?

As for exercise I know I can get in the pool and do movements. I'm also gonna get some super bands as well.

The funny thing is where it hurt the least on my body that day is where the biggest problem is. This is the first time I've had to major injuries back to back. I guess my body is telling my i'm not getting younger.

Some close to my said that I may have been pushing to hard by traing 2-3 times a day without getting proer rest and this should be used as a reason to cut back a bit.

I can honestly say that this is the first time I've been depressed because of my physical perfromance. I dont think i'm feeling sorry for myself but it's a weird feeling to describe.

My team just took off for a month of trainin to antoher state this morning and I couldnt be with them.

Someone did bring up a good point. They said you neet to "rest as hard as you workout so you can recover quick and right the first time".

Man...that really blows. Trust me, I feel for ya. I haven't been able to lift for real since last June and now it's gonna be even longer. I just had my 2nd back surgery less than 2 weeks ago and I just found out yesterday that I'm gonna need a 3rd one in less than a year.

I don't have any real advice for ya except to listen to the advice of resting plenty. Everything that I have heard tossed around on these boards definately says to use the GH.

Getting old sucks huh?

Sorry to hear about your injury SD.

Aside from whatever traditional recovery rehab you do, I'd spend some time every day visualizing/active meditation of your recovery.

The advice your fellow team member gave you seems ideal, just do it at all levels of your being.

My 2cents anyways.

Adding Nandrolone would probably help but you don't have time for it work much.
Sorry to hear about the accident Bro. Take care

I was on NPP for 2 months and felt great. I got off only because I hold water big time from any nandralones at all. Not as much on NPP as Decca but still somewhat.

I'm not sure if running NPP again for the next few months will help or not. I'm figuring my current use of Test, Var, and GH should help somewhat. Anything is better than nothing.

My follow up is tommorrow afternoon in reguards to the second MRI. I will keep everyone posted.

Oh and wearing a C collar only for the last few days sucks big time. I can't imagine 8-12 weeks.

Isnt "kinda sorta" breaking you neck like "kinda sorta" being pregnant?

Sorry to hear this though... it does sound like it could have been worse (which is never much of a comfort!).

Things are on the up and up. it's been 2 weeks to the day. did a follow up to Ortho and the put me in a soft collar which is a helluva lot nicer to wear.

the occasional tingling in my left hand comes from a pervious injury to m C4/C5 they said. I still have to see the Neurosurgeon though. but at least it's a move in the right direction i guess. Got cleared to do non impact cardio too.

I hope everything works out ok for you. I know how you feel with your unit leaving without you. I broke my arm arm wrestling 2 weeks before I was supposed to deploy to Iraq. It sucked balls having to sit at home with all my buds deploying without me.

Oh they wont leave without me as of right not. I have a meeting with the Neurosurgeon the end of the month. The meeting will include talking with people at Walter Reed Medical Center.

If I knew for a fact I was gonna hold my team back I would not even consider it. Otherwise it's still a go.
