When bulking and trying to build up the frame is there any possible benefit to eats carbs with your bed time meal (besides getting a gut)...?

I don't like to, even if they are good carbs. I've used protein with a good fat like olive oil or just protein before bed.

Carbs before bed will NOT make you fat. That is a myth.

I would keep the carbs around your training- the couple meals before and after, and do protein and fat before bed.

I think its more about the metabolism of carbs or fats... carbs absorb faster than fats, and then give you a nice little sugar spike & crash, which doesn't help your sleep. The advantage of eating fats as your last meal is that it metabolizes slower and reduces the time you are running on empty before yorur next meal (breakfast).
As BG mentions, you can save your carb calories for when they can be used most effectively, e.g. to replace glycogen stores after training, for energy during the day.

Agreed.
Eating carbs before bed will not make you fat though. A low GI carb won't affect your body negatively. It's all about what and when you're eating throughout the day. If you're consistent eating every 2-3 hours, carbs evenly spread out, your body will be able to metabolize a carb serving before bed just fine.
As far as whether it benefits you in a bulk one way or the other... imo, it doesn't really matter as long as you're getting your macros in.
