Default Suggestions on sciatica

My lower back muscle pull has developed into a nasty case of sciatica. Shooting pain from my lower back and glute into my leg even causing wrenching hip flexor spasms.I can't stand for more than 10 minutes at a time without having to sit down to relieve the pain. Anyone else ever have this and what did you do, I am absolutely miserable

Went to the chiro yesterday he did ultra sonic massage, it definitely helped. Icing has been helping with it as well. Gonna get into yoga class a couple times a week at the gym when I heal....absolutely.

i have degenerative disk and a few herniated disc's that sometimes lay on my sciatica....it's aweful and there's not much for you to do. i've gotten cortizone shots..have done physical therapy etc.....nothing really helps. my advice is to stretch out your hip flexors....relieves alot of tension in the lower back...that plus advil

You are in luck my friend. You are speaking with someone that is a little more than half way thru Anatomy and Physiology II and we are dealing with the Central and Peripheral Nervous Systems as I type.

Hmmmmm ?

Now typically, the symptoms of said condition is only felt on one side of the body…..do you find this to be the case with you Patient ?

We need to ascertain if said condition is caused by compression of the lumbar or sacral nerves. Might I suggest a MR neurography Imaging test to better diagnose and treat your condition.

Also, you may be asked by a doctor to perform series of movements as a form of more diagnostic testing.

If you can wait say approx 5 more years….I may consider Nurse Anesthetics and will be able to give you an Epidural Steroid Injection that will deliver anti-inflammatory agents directly to said affected area.

We in the offices of 2ez would like to thank you for allowing us to help you improve your quality of life.

I hope you feel better soon bru.

Stretch and foam roll. Unless it is some kind of nerve damage .

I have/had pocket and regular sciatica, and both were fixed in a month doing the stretches.

Talk to Jon Chipko at BODYGOALS.COM ot post up on the rehab board

My hip flexor is the only thing hurting me today, back and buttocks feel better after massage with ultra sound yesterday. Too painful to stretch though, I can walk around about 5-10 minutes before pain becomes unbearable and have to sit to relieve it. I have a foam roller so I'll give it a shot on the flexor. Thanks
