Hey Ulter, there is a company in Canada that just released a supplement called PGX fiber which is a combination of glucomanna with 4 other fibers for control of diabetes. According to them, it lowers postprandial ( after meal) blood glucose by 20%, lowers insulin secretion by 40% and produces a whole body insulin sensitivity index improvement by 50% which is unequalled by any drug or natural product ( according to them). It was developped by the University of Toronto. I would like to know how Glucorell compares to that in terms of percentages? Also, I've been taking glucorell for quite some time now and even though I don't gain weight from eating high carb foods with it, I haven't noticed that it reduces carb cravings at all. It seems to me that something that regulates blood sugar levels would also reduce carb cravings since they are caused by blood sugar fluctuations...usually if your glucose levels are balanced, you don't crave sweets anymore. Why doesn't glucorell do that?

Those percentages are marketing hype numbers from a supp company. I would take them with a grain of salt. The ingredients in the supp have been used for 20 years by "natural" treatment people. From what I can see it's the same supp with a new label.
It's ridiculous to say how much a product is going to lower your insulin levels or your insulin sensitivity without knowing what they are to begin with. To make flat statement of percentages is marketing not science since everyone will be a differenct number based on their own individual degree of insulin resistance. Glucorell R will cause your glucose uptake to be at it's perfect response but not higher than that. If you are very insulin resistant it may lower your insulin levels and increase insulin sensitivity by 80% and if you're not then maybe 20% (these are examples not real numbers).
