Thought I'd bring this back....
I decided to go ahead and throw up a couple of pics to get started so people would actually know where I'm at and where I'm headed. For starters, these pics are me yesterday and natural. I've been 'off' since the end of December and my upcoming cycle is in the next few days. I'm training for a contest the end of August, so hopefully with the goals I've set, I can make it happen. I'll post my cycle/diet below, but for now, here are the beginning shots. The legs are coming tomorrow.
2/8/2008
Height: 5'10" (and hopefully this won't change....haha)
Weight: 195lbs
Bodyfat: ? (9-9.5%)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's some info from another thread on my diet, goals, and upcoming cycle info:
I've compiled some information from our wonderful contributor MR. BMJ, and I've used my normal diet to combine into a good diet for a bulking stage in my life. Right now I'm at 5'10", 195lbs, currently "off" cycle, my bodyfat is sub 9% and dropping, and I am looking to gain to around 218-220 if possible. I want to stay sub 9% throughout this diet and I think with my genetics it's very possible. I haven't counted macro's yet, but will on fitday.com soon. I need to do that ASAP.
Here's a look at what I've compiled and please make suggestions and changes if you think something would work better for my goals. This diet below is for Training Days Only:
Wake 6am
Preworkout: - 10g EAA, 38g Waxy Maize with Crystal light
PWO
76g Waxy Maize
10g BCAA
1-2g Taurine
1g Vit-C
3 PureCEE
Mixed all together with Crystal light (thanks BMJ )
Meal 1 @ 8:15am
50g True Protein Cold Filt Iso
10g BCAA
1g Taurine
Meal 2 @ 10:00am
8oz - sirloin steak
1cup - couscous
1cup - raw brocolli or more
Meal 3 @ 12:30pm
50g True Protein Cold Filt Iso
1cup Oatmeal, Quaker, 1minute (mixed with shake and drank)
1-2oz mixed nuts (pine, almonds, peanuts, all unsalted)
Meal 4 @ 3:00pm
8oz chicken
1 bag Success brown rice or lentils
1 granny smith apple
Meal 5 @ 5:00pm
50g True Protein Cold Filt Iso
1cup Oatmeal, Quaker 1 minute (mixed with shake and drank)
2 tbsp organic peanut butter
1-2oz mixed nuts (pine, peanut, & almond)
Meal 6 @ 8:00pm
8oz fish OR turkey
1 lg sweet potato
1 cup raw brocolli or more
B4 Bed @ 10:30pm
50g Casein shake
NON-Training Days I will supplement this for when I awake, but keep meals 1-6 as they are:
10 boiled egg whites, 3 yolks
1 large wheat bagel or some sort of good breakfast carb
Ok, some may say that I'm using way too many meals for shakes. I understand this to be correct and a fact, but my job requires me to be on the run sometimes and this can be a problem with having to eat too many prepared meals. I prepare meals 1-2 times a week, and this isn't a problem, but the eating 3 solid meals at my job wouldn't fly well. Even though I'm part owner, it still wouldn't fly. I try to take around 20 minutes to eat each whole meal. I drink 6 liters of H2O per day. I only have 1 12oz diet coke each day.
My supplements are as follows:
Thermorexin 1x day
Cardio Breeze 1x day
Alcar caps 3x day
Neurogenex 2x day, twice
PureCEE in the AM
Sesapure at every meal
Glucorell at every meal
Vit - C
Taurine
BCAA
EAA
AIFM every night
Oxytocin (:P)
Beta Alanine
B5 @ 10g/ED
Fish Oil caps 6x/ED
Saw Palmetto
Ginger Root
Zinc
Cranberry Extract
Magnesium
Potassium
Tylers Liver detox
Milk Thistle
Grape Seed Extract
Acidophilus
Cycle coming up Feb 9th:
Wk 1-11: Enanthate @ 750mg/week
Wk 12-13: Test Prop @ 100mg eod
Wk 1-8: Tren Acetate @ 50mg/ED
Wk 1-8: Dbol @ 30-40mg/ED
Wk 1-14: Proviron @ 50mg/ED
Wk 2-5: IGF-1 LR3 @ 60mcg/ED (site inject after workout)
Wk 10-13: IGF-1 LR3 @ 60mcg/ED (site inject after workout)
POSSIBLY: 4iu HGH/ED Mon-Fri, off Sat-Sun...I'm pondering this
I'll be using finisteride for hairloss, and will see if it helps or hurts before making the decision to keep running it or cease use.
I'll be using dostinex @ .5mg/E 4-5 days, depending on the need.
I'll have nolva on hand and adex in case of gyno or bloat.
Doing 250iu of HCG throughout cycle every 3 days.
The bottom line is this: My goals are not going to be easy, nor simple, but I think I can make it happen if I put my mind to it and stay diciplined. I must gain as much weight in LBM as possible, and I will adjust my diet with carbs according to how my body starts reacting during the weeks ahead. Tweaking will probably occur and I'll probably drop a carb meal or 2 during non-training days, but we'll just have to see how it works out.
A picture says a thousand words, so the only one I have right now is the one on my wifes avatar, and that's current and off cycle. My abs weren't flexed and I was just standing natural, so I'm going to post some more pics this weekend when I have some time.
If I have the TIME, I may possibly post a progression post or something, I don't know. I don't want to start something that I can't finish, but if it's just a week by week transformation post I could probably make that happen. I'll need to be critiqued on which bodyparts are lagging.
I'm going to do this. Make no mistakes, the light heavyweight division will be mine. I'm going into this confident but with knowledge and dicipline, and I'm not letting anything get in my way. My blood work was back ALL normal, every single part of it besides the minor liver enzymes which were so slight they were probably caused by training, etc.
I'm ready. Come on.

Leg shots
I haven't trained my legs but 2 times since Christmas, so give me a break on the dis-proportioned right to left leg. I just noticed it in the photo as I was downloading it. I'll be working on correcting this problem. I was pretty irritated about it to say the least.
Calves are fine, but I need ham work and quad depth. All in due time.

Just started yesterday the Dbol & enanthate. Waiting to start the Tren until the middle of the week as I'm still waiting for my dostinex & proviron. Don't want to chance any prog gyno, and starting the Tren a little late won't matter anyways.
Chest and Tris today and they are SORE. Diet started today. Man this diet is going to take a couple days to get used to. I'm freaking stuffed. :Rawk:

Looking good! You def have some big calves :)
Best wishes on your comp prep.
I drank shakes all the way up to the night before my last two shows :)
I  my shakes ... I sometimes have 3-4 a day.
Then again I eat 6-8 x a day :)

I'm going to say the calves were given to me by the grace of God, I just do basics and they grow like a weed.
I'm doing full body measurements tonight on each bodypart so I'll be able to keep up with my progress. I may post it here.
Yeah, I love my shakes too, but 3-4 a day can get wild.
The good thing about my diet is this: in the oatmeal, and couscous meals, I drink them both so I don't have to eat them.

Lookin good bro - back looks awsome!
We're very similar in frame and size - I may have a bit more thickness up top but I'd trade that for your calves any day. lol. Good luck with your comp in August! What weight are you hoping to come in at?
I'm 5'9 and 209 - 211 depending on the time of day and I'm hoping to compete in the masters division in July at about 188ish. I won't be the biggest but I'm hoping to be pretty diced. You should do really well. Great frame, well thought out diet, good density, good wheels. Keep posting your progress so we can see where you're at as you near your show.
hmm i have nothing helpful to say except niiice butt! (and chest, and back, and legs)

Yeah, you for sure have some more thickness up top, and looking good man. I'm sitting at 196 today, and you've got about 13 pounds on me. The weight I'm hoping to come in at will be around 192-195 if I'm lucky. I will need to gain up to 220 for that to happen, so I'm just going to see how things turn out from this cycle & diet.
I could be coming in around where you're going to be at in the 188-190 range even, but I'll be for sure sliced and diced up too.

(1)AM Preworkout or during w/o shake
(2)AM PWO shake
(3)real food
(4)real food
(5)real food
(6)PM work (when I do AM/PM) PWO shake
(7)real food
(8)Possible Shake (before bed if I still want some casein mixed with ANPB to taste like choc PB icing, I just mix it with a little water and eat it like that , so if that is considered shake so be it :))

Well, when I start cutting for the show I'll see how they fair in my diet. Right now, so far so good.
I like your precontest layout though. I don't know if I could eat 3 solid meals in a row, but I'm gonna have to come this summer.
I only plan on dieting for 9-10 weeks max too, so I hope it won't be too bad.

Much appreciation for all the postive comments everyone. That's the kind of stuff I'm going to need! :)
Hopefully after a week of this new diet, I'll have everything down pat and I won't be struggling too much to swallow all the food. It's the rice/couscous that just kills me when I have to eat that much of it.
I think this afternoon (30 minutes) for my meal I'm going to drink my couscous this time around and see how easy it is.
BTW....True Protein has great supps. Got them in last night, BUT, they sure do need to add more flavoring/sweetner to their protein blends. Both my casein and the cold fil iso were just not sweetened enough.
I'm gonna have to dump about 2 cups of splenda in my casein tonight....lol.

it usually takes me a week or two of increased eating for me to really get my hunger back, you'll be there in no time.
Have you ever tried SF Syrups? I've gotten them in strange places like Marshalls near the home goods isles. Raspberry flavor, vanilla bean, ect. Just pour it into shakes and you're good to go.

Didn't get to sleep until late last night because I had to cook 6 pounds of chicken, turkey, & steak. That will last me a whopping 3 days. For $35 bucks every three days, I may have to start buying my meat at Costco instead of the more pricier places. That would be $350 a month for meat alone. I can afford it, but damn that's kind of crazy.
I feel pretty good today, just a little tired. Not as hungry today because I'm "off" and won't return training until tomorrow.
The food stuffing is tough, but I'm getting used to it. Takes time.
Hydrolyzed Casein is my taste problem. Gotta re-order some calcium casein instead....that tastes much better for a before bed shake.

I need to find out where the nearest one is located.
I'll be happy to drive 15 minutes to save a little money. Then I can just buy all the meat for 1 week at 1 time and cook it all at the same time and be done with it.

I'll be posting weekly pictures every Sunday throughout this bulking cycle to show progression.
Today I feel good. Had a leg workout that was killer. I'm still trying to get used to this new diet. It's brutal for some reason. Some meals are easy, and some are just plain hard to get down. The solid meals are the only ones that are difficult. The others are easy, even the shakes with the oatmeal. I could drink anything. Maybe I should process up my chicken/steak/turkey and drink that too.....lol.
Todays weight is 197.2. I'm starting to get the abs back. Pics are coming on every Sunday.
More to come....
Tonights cheat night. Going to eat sushi and possibly have a martini (just one).

Probably going to cheat once a week unless I can't stand it and I'll then go to 2 times, but never more than that.
I'd actually like to have a cheat "day" but I'm not so sure that would work or not.

Started Tren Acetate @ 50mg/ED last night along with Proviron @ 50mg/ED, & cabaser @ .5mg E3D. The easiest shot I've ever done. 27g 1/2" in the quad and it went in smooth as a knife to hot butter. Yum.
Todays training was nice. Veins are starting to pop out, and I'm getting a lot fuller in most all bodyparts. The dbol is slightly kicking in as I can tell already and I can't imagine the results that are to come from the test/tren/proviron. I honestly think the diet that I'm on is where my biggest change has come from this week. I'm starting to believe and have more faith that 220 won't be that hard to get to. At least....right now that is.....

FYI, I didn't have sushi last night. Personal issues came about, and we ended up at Cracker Barrell at 10:00. I had a 8oz sirloin with bacon, eggs, biscuits and grits.
Not that bad of a cheat.

Today I'm working unfortunatly, but I'm excited about moving forward.
I started tren 2 days ago, and last night was very weird when I was sleeping. My wife said I snored almost all night and I never snore. What's up with that? I also remember that I tossed and turned a lot and couldn't get comfortable but still managed to sleep well. I had weird dreams. Is this normal for tren sides? No night sweats yet, but I'm only on day 3 at 50mg/ED.
I've been using the Nizoral 1% on my back and shoulders and just about all my bumps have dissapeared. I'm excited about that and hope this keeps up even while using the tren.
Still having issues with trying to get the whole food meals down. It sucks eating steak and rice at 10am.
Gotta start doing deadlifts next week. There any particular day you guys would recommend that I incorporate them into my training? I was thinking about doing them on Leg day because I get a day of rest the next day.
Thoughts? :deadlift:

I think it's safe rationale seeing that you need to give your CNS some rest time. You said your last leg day was a killer, so based on that, I'd be hesitant to add in DLs too that day... if anything, maybe at the beginning of the workout, lots of warm-up sets. :dunno:
RichGenetics
02-16-2008, 11:34 AM
Yeah, I got to thinking about that and it makes sense. I don't really care what day of training that I do them, but I think they will be beneficial to me with some added growth throughout the next 12 weeks.
I just wonder what's a safe day to incorporate them into?
Next weeks schedule:
Mon - Chest/Back
Tues - Legs
Wed - OFF
Thur - Bic/Tri
Fri - Traps/Shoulders
I train calves on leg day, and abs all 4.
I could probably work them into the Thursday workout.

Tonight was a cheat night and did I ever cheat. Are you ready:
Started off with a nice salad, with red onion vinegarette dressing and cranberries with pecans and feta. Then I moved on to the large portion of medium rare lamb chops, and a side of garlic mashed potatoes.
Dessert was the following sampler: chocolate lava cake, cream brulee, blueberry cheesecake, peach cobbler, and pistachio icecream. ALL homemade. Had a cup of coffee and a shot of baileys to end the night (not to mention the martini and red wine I had).
Yes, I'm now at 200lbs tonight after I got out of the shower. I feel like a fattty.

oh and BTW, my little tiny 2 cents, but hit your traps hard on back day. You can get plenty of action with your deads and rowing. I rarely do any trap exerices these days because they can get pretty huge, like my quads they grow like weeds and I was blessed with them.
BTW, I had to come back in here again and repost. For some reason the post I made only 15 or minutes ago, well where did it go? I swear I submitted, it lol

I'm starting to feel like I'm falling apart.
I have no energy, no appetite, and eating just makes me sick to my stomach. My workouts are not as intense this week either.
Today was the worst training session I've had in a while. I did legs/calves, and by the time it was over I was in the bathroom puking my guts out. :puke:
I don't feel sick, but it's probably the orange juice that I drank twice in the middle of the night (IDIOT!!!!).
I must have just poisoned myself with too much sugar or something. But still, that's just today. I felt like total azz yesterday too.
I'm starting to wonder if it's the tren, cabaser, or what that's making me lethargic, tired, and have no appetite.
I'm sorry for bitching, but this just isn't the normal RG. I caught myself this morning at the gym staring into space, and I had to snap out of it and get back to reality.
UGH.
Im telling you, OJ anytime will make me wanna hurl. Total Gut-rot remember? Hang in there, I dont know about the stuff you take, but dont give up. Keep up the :dinner:, even though it SUCKS

yeah, you're right, it was for sure the OJ. The tren is making me have wild dreams and I get up in the night and walk around the house and then don't remember what I did while I was up. I don't know, the dreams are weird too.
I do remember Gut-Rot, northern hick :asshole:
I'm hanging, but I'm manipulating my diet because there was ZERO chance I would have been able to eat my 10am meal, so I swapped the protein/oatmeal instead and will do it that way today.
I have ZERO appetite.

Today was tiring because I didn't get to sleep until 11:30 last night from the PITA from my grill gas going out. I had to cook everything inside and the house smells terrible. Oh well, it will go away.
Did chest & triceps today, couldn't do back as I'd planned. There was just not enough energy.
Weight today: 200.8lbs.
So far so good.

Those contest pics aren't me....that's my competition that won the light heavy division in 2007 and my competition for this upcoming contest. Just wanted everyone to see what I was up against.
And yeah, I need to bring my quads/hams up for sure. The calves are for sure fine, as they're already larger than my biceps. My calves will get to 19" easy.
Hopefully my quads will get to 26-28".

No fever. Just had these symptoms:
Lower back pain (from the dbol)
Lethargy & loss of appetite (from the tren)
Nauseous & feeling of just no energy (from the sickness/virus/etc)
I'm not bloated anymore since taking potassium in excess.
I am SLOWLY getting my appetite back this afternoon, and I'm starting to feel better.
I just wonder if it was a 48hr type bug that hit me the same time my dbol/tren problem happened.
It was just hell.

Very good indeed.
One thing to take note of though is most people will be taking Potassium Gluconate. The Gluconate takes up most of the total mgs, so for instance, taking 500mg of Potassium gluconate only gives you a total of around 99mg of pure potassium.
I'm trying to figure out where I can get pure potassium from, but to no avail yet.
I'm taking 24 99mg pot gluc tabs per day right now which would equal somewhere around under 500mg of pure potassium if my math serves me right.
Plus, eating a banana will net you over 400mg.

I doubt I'll have to work my ass off to beat him. I'll have to work hard, but I can beat him. I just started back hitting legs hard this past month. I don't think they're size is an issue. Maybe now, yes, but give me some time and they'll fill out. My calves are already almost 18" around just sitting here.
You're right, I agree I'll have to lose a lot of overall size to be in the same condition. I'm working on getting up to 220. That's the goal.
If I find that when I get there that I'm not ready, then I won't do the show. It's not that big of a deal, I just really want to do it.

His calves suck compared to mine already. That is a given.
His quads are great conditioned, and I have no doubt mine will look better when cut down to size.
His upper body is very good, chest, abs, back are good, but he's lacking total arm thickness which I think I'll have another edge on him.
I am confident. Heck, I'm only in week 2 of my cycle, so I have some time to see if I can back up my goals.

Skipped Wed & Thursday. Started back today and did back/biceps. Threw up in the parking lot. I think now because of the potassium maybe?
No fever, just very ill feeling. I can move around fine, just very weak and CANNOT eat solid foods. I could probably eat some cheat foods with no problem, but I ate steak/couscous earlier at 10am, and most of it got thrown up around 12:30 or so.
I'm going to try and drink a protein/oatmeal shake and that way I'll at least get something down.
I've already drank 3 1/2 liters of water today.
I wonder if I'm drinking too much water too?

Yes, the news is good, although I'm losing some of the dbol bloat which is fine with me. I'll be much happier on 750mg Enanthate, 600mg EQ, & 40mg Anavar for the next 10-11 weeks.
I'm going to jump up the Var 10mg every couple weeks and try to get to around 70mg/Wk, as I've done 50mg before and think a little extra would be sufficient.
My appetite is still whacked out though. I just can't get the energy to eat a solid food meal at 10am. I think that because of my nausea and possible stomach bug at the same time I was having all the problems with tren/dbol last week that now my meals aren't looking so tasty.
I can eat just about anything, but couscous/rice chicken/turkey just make me want to vomit.

Jay, yeah man I'm ready to see how the var will keep working. My strength is off the charts for me personally. I walked in the gym monday and did chest & tris, and it was an amazing workout. I never have a spotter, and probably never will because theres nobody at the gym when I go, so I jumped on the flat bench this week instead of the incline. Did all the way up to 295 for 6 reps. Seems light, but I never lift heavy like that anymore.

If I finish up strong and gain upwards of 217 or so, then I may possibly give it some serious thought. I'll also have some huge personal things off my shoulders by then, so it's very possible that I can assess the situation and determine if I'll have the time to take for the preparation/dieting. That's the big "if".
Trust, I want to compete, but I live an on the go, busy businessman type lifestyle, and with it comes stress and hard work, which is exactly what comes along with preparations for a show. I don't know if the 2 can co-exist.
We'll see.
Either way, I'm never going to stop training hard. After my house is finished (they started construction in May of 07...ugh) being built and that monkey is off my shoulders, I'll probably have some extra time to focus on the goal at hand. In the meantime, I'm going to keep busting my balls in the gym.

B, honestly, I'm not certain if I'm going to be competing or not.
I've got a million things on my plate as it is right now, and I'm not sure I have the time to diet or time that's needed for dedication.
Entrepreneur lifestyle.
We'll see though.
Either way, I'm still hitting the gym hard and trying to gain as much as possible.RG - Whatever you decide will be the right decision. That's the best part. :)
Best wishes.

Ok, here's some new shots from a minute ago. Weights hovering around 204-205 consistently.
My abs are starting to come out more and I'm gaining some quality LBM. Week 4 is almost over, so I've got a long way to go.

Aight, if I can find another one I'll mail you one.
I'm hoping to go to Destin this summer but who knows.
Yeah, cracker barrell does a body good I guess.
The wheels up top are looking good, but I'm sort of bummed about my calves. I think I'm going to train them 3x this week. I want to put another inch on them and they're hovering close to 18" right now.
That means I need to step it up in the arms race. The arms are about 1/2" smaller than the calves....

Yes, I have no idea on the caloric intake but I'm sure after I had the entire piece of ham, 2 eggs, hashbrown casserole, grits, 3 biscuits (2 with gravy, 1 with apple butter), and baked apples, that it would be around 2000 cals or more.
Add 2 diet cokes to that, and I slept nicely that evening.

a quick question and observation.
if you are 204 now how are you going to be 217 if you continue to diet?
second, i would target upper pecs. you look to have good chest mass low but upper pec mass will make you chest look HUGE.

Well I'm not dieting, I'm trying to bulk but it's going slow. I'm obviously not eating enough or else I'd be gaining faster, but then again, I think dropping the dbol and adding the anavar is what's making me shred out so fast.
I'm doing the math, and if I have 9 weeks left to go, I'd only need to gain a little over a pound a week to get the 217 mark, but who knows if I can get there. I'm trying.
I'm still not certain I'll be competing 100%, but we'll see how this bulk goes and I'll determine that in the next few weeks. I'm just too busy I think. Too many multi tasking going on, and I don't think I have the time to dedicate my life for 9-12 of dieting and hell.
As for the upper pecs, I totally agree with you.
I'm doing incline bench, incline dumbells, etc, and it's very tough for them to grow.
Any suggestions? I'm only training 1 bodypart per week, so I could possibly jump on upper chest another time during the week.

I have had the same problem with you my whole life. i actually did show a lot of improvement working with IG a while back. my log is one the old board but i dont know how to dig it up. people ask to see it all the time but i dont have the link.
overall though, i would say you dont need to train it more during the week. from what i have seen on hard gainers in certain areas, more is usually counterproductive. you just have to make your time more constructive. overall we changed our workouts a ton and the intensity was through the roof but the workouts were not long.

inclines, overheads and even flat db press will hit the upper pecs moreso than flat bb. all good options.
frequency of wrkouts and intensity is all up to you bud, add things in slowly and give it a few weeks to see how yr recovery handles it.
And, lookin jakt in the ava' brotha!

I'm definitely going to focus more on the incline range for sure. Overheads....do you mean pullovers like WW said?
I'm thinking of jumping into training each bodypart 2x a week for 3 weeks, then going back to 1x per week, just to see if I can kick start some new fibers. I've been doing the 1x per week for years and NEVER change it up. I think a change is something that i'll benefit from now that I'm getting into week 4 of the cycle and the Test/EQ/Var are flowing now.

try laying the other way. I find that when I do them the way you describe, it works well, but works more my lats.. also hits the core well. I did them the other night at the end of my chest workout and also gave my chest a good stretch. The other way works my lats so good, I often do those first and just exhaust the hell out of my lats and then hit some seated rows.. or whatever.
Great work though with the 85s.. I have gone up at high as 35, lol.. :weightlifter:
oh btw so what you are saying about my new avy is that I need me to stand behind you so if your head is down a bit you get a good view. That may work for you.. heheh - anything to help out a guy work on his chest!

Wow, what a following in here....lol. I must say I'll have to keep stepping my game up and get better pics this weekend. I'm not feeling the gains for some reason. I'm going to drop the adex that I've been taking. I also wonder if I'm on too many AI's. Doing proviron at 50mg/ED, & 2 pumps of AIFM every night. Doesn't seem like too much, but I don't know.
Mols, Ms croft, WW, & buns are my heros. :)
WW, I'm going to try swapping the way I'm laying on the bench for sure on the next chest workout. It does work lats the way I'm doing it, so the long way might work better.

also take an incline bench for your flies and lay on the bench with your shoulders off the bench and your feet on the seat and do flies this way but when you come up criss cross the dumbells.. left hand then right and alternate. You can also do these on the tbar row... (a friend had this in his journal once and I tried it out.. works wonders) Also when doing inclines with a bar.. Let the bar scrape really close to your chin hitting the neck.. also works the upper!
