most ridiculouse steroid myths....

i was on an MMA (mixed martial arts) discussion board the other day and someone posted about UFC/PrideFC fighters useing steroids. Anyways of course it ends up in a debate with half of the members making ridiculous uneducated comments and the other half defending steroid use....and someone actually said "the only way steroids will help you in a fight is if you get injected 10 minutes before the fight!!! Steroids only make you stronger for a couple hours after you inject but then after it wares off youre weaker then before."

it was an amusing thread to say the least and i was getting a kick out of it, but i stopped participating when someone said "winny aka equipoise......" what are some of the most amusing mythes you guys have heard?

Just last week I read an article on cnnsi.com that made me so enraged I had to laugh. It was written by Tim Layden. In response to the recent TGH scandal he provided the following insight

Well, not exactly steroids but close.

A doctor who examined me could obviously see I do bodybuilding. He said the problem with putting on a lot of muscle is that if you stop working out it would "turn into fat."

I said, "Doc, you know better than that! You know one kind of tissue cannot "turn into" another.

He had some kind of "Well, but ..." answer. I don't have to tell you he's not my doc any more.

Maybe we should tell all the supersized slobs we see everywhere that if they had just not put on all that muscle, they wouldn't now be wearing those bushels of adipose tissue.

I remeber seeing an after school special where a Track athelete was brought to a horse vet and given juice and later in the movie he dies under the knife undergoing a TRIPPLE BI-PASS?!
