'roid rage' and women

Hi. I have been charged by my ex-boyfriend on 2 counts of assault. There were no witnesses and I didn't commit these offenses. We did have some very rough fights both verbally and physically though on the nights in question. The police have decided to proceed and refused to bail me because they believe the steroids I have taken on and off for the last few years as well as the fact I lift and am strong, makes me a danger to others and my ex. My solicitor got bail granted through the courts but it seems the whole thing is proceeding on the basis that the steroids make me aggressive and dangerous. My ex also lifts and is slightly stronger than me on some lifts, he also takes over-the-counter supplements to boost his testosterone 'naturally'. Has anyone else been in this position before? and does anyone have any advice or thoughts on this matter?It feels like I am being punished for wanting to be fit and strong.

Did he have any marks after you beat his a$$? If he has nothing to show the its his word agianst yours and it will go nowhere most likely.

This is a pretty wild episode. I had never heard of this before (women with "roid rage").

How do they know (and how can they prove) that you used steroids?

Yes, he can lift much more using his back and biceps than I can but I match him on legs. I did not beat his ass. In fact he bust my nose by headbutting me whilst holding me by my hair. He says he had marks but didn't show the police at the time or a Dr. I had bruising but didn't press charges because he is a dick and would turn it onto me. I just got well away from him. I was using the gear for sex drive and lifting. I am not one 'bad ass looking lady' I am quite stocky but still slim and fit - the arresting officer was surprised when he met me for the first time since he was expecting someone much bigger. I am 5'4", 154lbs. 23%BF. English size 14. Benching 130lbs, squatting 90 kgs on a good day (think that is 200lbs).

Yeah, I doubt this would even have got to the point it did here! Domestic disputes arent usually pursued, as they cost too much money and are usually difficult to prosecute.

Why not counter-sue? Aren't the police more apt to believe women being beaten by a man in your country? They are here. Besides, threatening a countersuit would probably force him to drop his charges on you. I'd say that holding your hair and headbutting you counts as assault in the UK.

Why are you fighting so much? Are there clear personal differences that come up regardless?
People are to quick to conclusions. Cops always look for the onething that will wrap up the theme of the report. once thats been put on paper hell couldnt get it expunged.

We fought so much because of his jealousy. He was convinced I had slept with every guy we met in the street. That is why we split. I had had enough.

He thought so but I didn't. Neither did he. He was very jealous though. A few of my friends new I was 'on' becaouse we all dabbled in 'substances' but I was the only one using AS and they thought that was the worst thing anyone could take - worse than E, phet, etc.So if I fell out with anyone they would say "its the steroids".

I think the obvious path to take is to focus on the actual assault charges involved. As you already know, the use of anabolics is really irrelevant to whether you committed a crime. Just do your best to get back to the real issues involved.
