Default For Global Warming Skeptics

The science appears to have serious problems.

Repent, son, and kneel at the altar of global warming. Never in the history of man has science been wrong, we all know that.

I dont' care if global warming is a crock, pollution is hurting us all (anybody who lives in a big city and has to deal with smog or has been afraid to get in the water because of the chem that might be in it knows this) and something needs to be done. The sooner the better.

Not too mention, the world is consuming natural resources and we need to get better at conserving them for future generations

I know him. He's the editor that defended Exxon's CEO getting a $190,000 a day compensation package. Still getting your information from those unbiases sources I see.

What do you mean, you know "him?" It was a panel of statisticians, not a "him": "A panel of statisticians chaired by Edward J. Wegman, of George Mason University, found significant problems with the methods of statistical analysis used by the researchers and with the IPCC's peer review process."

If you just mean Burnett, big deal. How does his reporting it discount the results of the panel? That's like saying if you posted the IPCC research, we should reject it because you are biased.

Yes, but you appear to be ignoring the fact that the fear-mongering global warming rhetoric could lead politicians to make laws that hurt more people than they help - over-react to the problem. Say, for example, you build big sea walls to stop the rising of the sea predicted by the IPCC- and it never happens. Or say the faulty sea level predictions bring down real estate values around the relevant coastlines. People who plan and build infrastructure are right now shaping their plans around such predictions. If they are false, quite a waste, right?

Because he's doing what he always does. Cherry picking his facts to fit the outcome he wants. He's been on FOX with this same junk for two years. He's paid by the oil companies. My faith in his judgment ends there.

I've never seen a study that was not open to criticism by those opposed to it's conclusions. Designs and Methods are argued this way all the time. That doesn't make them wrong.

It does not make them right either.

Burnett did not cherry pick. Here is Wegman's testimony to Congress below. There are also many other independent reports of his conclusions by people other than Burnett, and, "in testimony to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the President of the National Academy of Sciences, Ralph Cicerone, stated his belief that Dr. Wegman was well qualified to make the statements in his report."

Testimony of Edward J. Wegman I would like to begin by circumscribing the substance of our report.

On a side note, I saw on the news the other day that Exxon's profits have gone up to $5 million an hour!!! The oil industry has gotten out of control.

Whether or not it's true, we should all tread lightly on our planet. We respect our bodies, why not our earth? A little respect goes a long way....always.

Why is that bad? Lots of investments are made with those profits which put people to work; ordinary people's pensions and IRA's and investments and insurance and loans and many other things depend on profits from Exxon and other companies like Exxon.

Yeah yeah. Smoking doesn't cause lung cancer, evolution didn't happen, and the science showing that the earth is a globe is seriously flawed. I mean, just look out you're fucking window, for God's sake. Especially if you live in Jesusland somewhere. That land is flat, bro. FLAT !!! End of story.

It's so funny that those who listen to The Noise Machine are flat-earthers. We are churning millions of tons of carbon into the atmosphere every day, and somehow none of that has an impact. Yeah right.

Harley, the only reason you still think the earth is flat is because The Noise Machine is supported by the energy lobby (and others of similar values) and tells you umpty dozen times a day that the earth is flat. I know perfectly well, and so do you, that if The Noise Machine were silent on this issue, you wouldn't give a rat's ass about it.

There is no other way to account for the nearly perfect correlation between Red State "conservative" political affiliation and the belief that the earth is flat. Propoganda accounts for it all.

And it's not worth arguing.

Thought we kind of needed carbon and hydrogen and oxygen to breathe,

But who really needs to breathe,

Plus

How would you make carbon paper without carbon,

Do people still use carbon paper, and most

important

Carbon, don’t diamonds come from carbon, so the more carbon we produce the lower the price of diamonds.

Supply and demand, who said that, Milton Freidman?

You din't provide a shred of evidence that what he posted is invald...you just spewed a bile-filled rant about how much you hate the right. How is this useful in this discussion?

Wow, your febrile brain harbors lots of misconceptions and stereotypes. Actually I am an atheist, and I also believe evolution is a fact. So you don't have a clue. Your responses, on the other hand seem to follow the knee-jerk, cookie cutter reactions of the liberal noise machine to any critique of their sacred dogmas
