Default Half life of protein

Anyone know the rough half life of various proteins? From ingestion to elimination? I want to keep a steady state of available amino acids in my blood stream at least as much as I want a steady state of AS (and in some ways I want to have some fluctuation of AS).

How long does it take to eliminate whey protein. If ones protein intake was mostly whey, how often should it be dosed?

Hey thats an interesting question. Im surprised nobody has asked this before.

While on this "half-life" topic though, it reminds me of the slow-release protien that is supposed to be good for taking at bedtime. I have no idea of what it is or how it works, or if its worthless or not but this post reminded me of it. I think one brand was cause NightCharger or something similar.

Protein shakes by their very nature digest quickly, But Whey is the fastest, I do Ion-exchange whey post workout.

Before bedtimee I would recommend eggs and steak the added fat and the fact that is solid food helps slow digestion. But if your dieting or just don't want to cook then casein is your best choice.

I don't know how long whey or casein take to digest that would have alot to do with your metabolic rate.

about 4 hours blood amino acid supply drops and begins leaching aminos from muscle and organ tissue this is why if you are attempting to combine incomplete protien sources to attain a complete protien you must have eaten the meals within 4 hours of each other. ex rice and beans

Default Protein half life

Yes its about 4 hours, thats why it is always rcommended that bodybuilders eat every 3-4 hours to maintain levels stable.

SO if I am consuming alot of whey, how often should I dose it?

Would it be better to take 20 gram every hour, or 40 grams every 2 hours etc?
