Default Will taking ALA with a low carb/no carb meal cause me to go hypo?

I want the liver benefits of ALA, but I only eat around 75g of dextrose with my post workout shake, and then maybe another 50g of starches 2 hrs later. What is the maximun amount of ALA I can take without becoming hypo? This is at night, so I worry about becoming hypo while sleeping.

Are you using slin with it?

Normally just use 100mg with those meals/shakes.

Right. If you are eating low carbs anyway keep the dose down. There is no sense taking more than you need.

What about taking a large amount on "carb days" while on a keto diet to try to stay in Ketosis?

Default What if?

Ok let say that you are bulking and taking in quite a few carbs. Is 100mg before a high carb meal still sufficent for the insulin effect or would you need more.

With Keto you won't want to use it on your carb up day. The purpose of the carb up day is to spike your insulin and r-ALA is going to prevent the spike.
r-ALA is better used on the other days to keep insulin low. But in all honesty you don't need keto if you have r-ALA. You will get rid of just as much fat without the keto by just taking it with regular carb meals and letting the r-ALA push the carbs to the muscle cells.

It depends on you diet during your bulking cycle. If you have one of those "I will eat anything not moving" just to get 5000 calories in you then forget r-ALA. Just eat.
But if like me you don't want to lose 20 pounds of water and fat from a cycle like that then use 200-300mg with each high carb meal. This will allow you keep your fat down and still maintain good insulin levels for growth.
