Obama adviser apologizes, resigns
Samantha Power made off-the-record comment calling Clinton a "monster"

Posted: Friday, March 07, 2008 at 1:56 p.m.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- One of Barack Obama's advisers says the remarks she made about Hillary Rodham Clinton were "inexcusable."

Samantha Power resigned from her post as a foreign policy adviser in the Obama campaign Friday after apologizing for calling Clinton a "monster."

Power was quoted in a Scottish newspaper Friday, even though she tried to keep it from appearing in print by saying that it was "off the record."

The remark was then picked up by U.S. media.

Power says her comments are a departure from her "oft-stated admiration" for Clinton, as well as from the "spirit, tenor and purpose of the Obama campaign."

Shortly before Power stepped down, the Clinton campaign held a conference call with several of Clinton's congressional supporters calling for Power to be fired.

Clinton's spokesman noted that Clinton aides have been removed in the past for comments they made about Obama.

Maybe she was correct?

All of this bullshit about "advisors" making hurtful or inflammatory statements and then being fired is the oldesst trick in the book. Lawyers have been doing this shit for years in front of juries. You throw something inflammatory out there, and you know youre going to get an objection and its going to be stricken, but once its heard its heard, there is no erasing it from the juries memories and minds.

Thats all these clowns are doing. Finding some expendable scapegoat campaign worker to throw out a dagger, it hits its mark, and then said worker gets fired. These clowns think we are stupid.....and most are.
