Inspired by Victorbr's situation about not being able to make his protein sources taste good, post what you hate here and get some replies on how to make it tastier :) Make sure to post your goal; i.e. if you're bulking, cutting, or just trying to make a healthier/vegan/kosher version of a food you like.

We'll be calling you Aunt StrawberryRiddick soon. I can see this turning into an agony column.
I can't think of any food hates besides celery and especially-fatty meat.

Dear Auntie Riddick,
I just can't seem to appreciate my evening celery sticks anymore. They sit on the plate almost smiling at me but all I get are shivers down my spine. Is it me?

Dear Limp Celery,
It's not you, it's them. Try brigthening them up a bit with a splash of balsamic vinegar.

LOL
nice idea for a thread .
OK , here I go :
First off , let's start with the basics :
Is there a whey protein , 100 % isolates or even isolate + concentrate mixture that actually TASTES good ? If so , tell me the brand , cause I have tried 1000000000000 different brands and they all TASTE like TURD . Specially using water with them , I am switching to non fat milk following Blut Wump's recomendation, 100 ml + some ice is enough to make a thick nice creamy shake .
100 ml , 3 x a day is just 300 ml and that will give me only like 15 g carbs and some protein , so it is all good .
So , ideas for a PW shake , ideas for calorie free stuff that I could ADD to before going to bed shake .

Calorie-free stuff I can't think of to add before your nighttime shake. Nothing that would taste super awesome, anyway.
I know you care about fats and sugars, so I won't EVEN try to recommend Muscle Milk.
I like Dessert. 130 calories, 3g fat, 7g carbs, and 20g protein, and it really does taste good. Instead of mixing it with water or fat-free milk, try fat-free milk and nonfat, no-sugar-added vanilla yogurt. I do around 20oz fat-free milk and 1/4 cup yogurt per two scoops of the protein. Another option if the yogurt doesn't float your boat is to add powdered fat-free milk. This will add more protein, and thicken it up.
If you want to have a shake that really tastes awesome, try this:
1/2 cup fat-free, no-sugar-added vanilla yogurt
3-4 scoops protein of your choice (try Isopure for sugar-free protein)
3 packets green tea leaves (you can't taste them, and they add anti-oxidants)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 tbl smooth, natty PB
2 sliced bananas (freeze 'em the night before so you can get extra thickness)
Enough fat-free milk OR 100% juice of your choice to get it all blended.
The easiest way to blend this is to add all the yogurt, a splash of the liquid, the protein and cocoa powders, green tea leaves, then blend. Add a little more of the liquid, then add the PB. At this point, you can judge how much you're making...add more yogurt if you want more shake. Add more liquid to get it blending happily, then add the banana slices. This is gooood shit. Throw in some black coffee for more caffeine power.
If the PB is out of your fat range, you can omit it...try replacing it with egg whites, crumbled tofu (only 1/4 cup, though), or powdered fat-free milk to get an extra protein boost.

Someone asked for a healthier lasagna, so I figured it should go here as well.
Homemade Marinara
--1 can diced tomatoes
--1 diced, medium yellow onion
--5 baby portabella mushrooms, sliced
--3-5 tbl balsamic vinegar (vinegar, not vinegarette) (to taste)
--3-5 tbl scotch, whiskey, or burbon (to taste)
--3-5 tbl worchestershire sauce (to taste)
--salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and "Italian Seasoning" to taste (add red pepper flakes if you want a kick)
--2-3 tbl olive oil (or your preference of butter substitute)
--However much Italian-style turkey sausage or vegan ground "meat" that you want (you want this to be a meaty sauce for your lasagna).
Heat a medium saucepan, then add olive oil. Wait a few seconds for it to heat up, add the onions. Sautee about 5-10 minutes, or until translucent. Add 15oz can diced tomatoes, seasonings, sliced sausage or vegan "meat", balsamic vinegar, alcohol, worchestershire. Simmer on medium low for 20 minutes. Add mushrooms.
The Lasagna
You'll need: homemade marinara, one 16oz tub fat-free cottage cheese*, 1/4 to 1/2 cup shredded low-fat parmesean, fontina, and/or asiago cheese (1/4 to 1/2 cup TOTAL), 1 package of lumpia wrapper**.
--Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
--In a casserole dish, add a little of the sauce on the bottom to prevent sticking.
--Layer lumpia wrapper. You want it to overlap a little, but don't go nuts...you're trying to save calories.
--Add more marinara and top it with cottage cheese, about 1/3 of the tub. Sprinkle a little of the Italian cheese.
--Layer with more lumpia wrapper and repeat until you reach almost the top of your casserole dish. Top with the remaining shredded Italian cheese.
--Bake 20 minutes, remove from oven and wait 5 minutes. Cut and serve as you normally would.
*Cottage Cheese comes in a fat-free option, unlike the traditional ricotta. They have a similar flavor. Cottage cheese is the curd, whereas ricotta is the reheated watery leftover (whey). They are both unaged, soft, white cheeses, and have a pretty similar flavor in Italian dishes. Great substitute.
**Lumpia wrappers are found in the frozen section of most large grocery stores. You can also use spring roll wrappers, they're the same thing. THEY ARE NOT EGG ROLL WRAPPERS. Those are completely different.
For one 7" lumpia wrapper, you get 93 calories, .5g fat, 18.5g carbs, and 3.1g protein.
For approx. the same amount of whole wheat lasagna noodles, you get 190 calories, 1g fat, 42g carbs, and 0g protein.

Tried it bro .PRetty damn good .:)
I used isopure and everything else BUT the ANPB .
Very good stuff .
Now , in my efforts to have tastier food and at the same time keep my diet healthy I went al out yesterday on the internet trying to find recipes .
I was trying to find a way to make my chicken breast tastes better . So I remember that I really love the outback's honey mustard dressing and with that on hands I could eat a shit load of chicken breast and ACTUALLY enjoy it .
So I went online I found the recipe . PRetty damn simple and it tastes actually JUST LIKE THE REAL STUFF ! here is the link : Robbie's Recipe Collection: Honey Mustard Dressing like The Outback'sŪ (http://recipes.robbiehaf.com/O/91.htm)
I used low fat mayo and low kcal mustard and it is just awesome , now I can get back to chicken breast cause i chop them and just dip the cubes inside the dressing bowl ! There are only a few grams of carbs from the honey and a VERY few grams of fat from the low fat mayo so it is still pretty good to use it twice daily with chicken breast , Oh and you can make a BIG BOWL and it will last forever ...hehehe
Now I am looking for a " lemon pie taste like " whey protein shake .
Another thing that I noticed is that you can basically prepare any kinda of food that you really like but making key substitutions that doesn't affect the taste and turns the food into a healthy meal .
hehehe

Tried it bro .PRetty damn good .:)Glad that did it for you. I am in love with it. It's high calorie (I use the PB), so I make sure that I do something to earn it. :)
As for the honey mustard, they do make fat-free mayo. That'll help you save on fats and calories there. If you can't find fat-free mayo, they should still have fat-free miracle whip...I'm not a fan of the sweeter taste, but I think it'd be good in a honey mustard dressing.
Hmm...lemon pie protein shake? I just looked up a lemon cream pie recipe. I'd try a protein shake using vanilla protein (3-4 scoops), nonfat no-sugar-added vanilla yogurt (1/4 to 1/2 cup), then it looks like 2-3 tsp of lemon juice. Throw the green tea leaves in for good measure. I haven't personally tried this so I'm completely pulling it out of my ass, but since you're interested, give it a shot, make adjustements as necessary, then post here :)
Now , in my efforts to have tastier food and at the same time keep my diet healthy I went al out yesterday on the internet trying to find recipes.
Awesome :) See? It isn't really that hard. You don't have to be an Emeril to make yourself something yummy!
Another thing that I noticed is that you can basically prepare any kinda of food that you really like but making key substitutions that doesn't affect the taste and turns the food into a healthy meal.
AB-SO-LUTELY! I learned a great substitution for ricotta cheese in Italian dishes is nonfat cottage cheese. Give that a shot. You can also add more veggies to your meals by putting it in the sauce, or going halfsies with veggies/pasta (just mix the veggies with the cooked pasta, then dress as you normally would). A great sneak-'er-in is antioxidant rich kale. It's a bitter leafy green that you can simmer with your marinara. Adds a little bite, and a lot of nutrition.
right, thats why i gave up. taste slows you down and costs you money.
Depends on your time constraint. If you're in a real hurry, grab a can of tuna. If you have 2 minutes to spare, throw in a tomato, spinach, and hit it with some mustard, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.

I found that a great way to sweeten your tea is to add a little 100% juice to it. This way, it adds a flavor and a sweetness. If you don't hate aspartame, you can also mix some Crystal Light into it.
