Since your BF is extremely high start by encorporating the basics...exerise and diet. I wouldn't even consider using AS until you drop your bf naturally, bf that high you should be able to drop a significant amount by cutting carbs and adding 30 minutes of cardio/day.

AAS play a role in protectiong your muscle when you are much lower in BF....until then... diet, lift weights, do aerobic exercise first thing in the morning and if your cardiac condition allows do some fat burners.

I agree...work really hard at burning fat. NYC would work well for you. Keep lifting your weights, get plenty of protein, take some creatine and ALA and you should preserve your muscle just fine.

Thanks for the advice. I got to the gym 5 days a weeka nd do cardio maybe onday a week for 15 mins. I know you don't want to hear this but, Do you recommend any AS that will help me out. Again I am looking to lower my BF and cut up and of course lose about 20lbs. Thanks for the help again.

If you are truely 30% then you should be able to get down to around AT LEAST 15% with DIET and CARDIO and that is KEEPING MUSCLE!!! Save your money for when you actually need to use gear to keep your muscle. Using AS now to preserve muscle would help about as much as sneding me the money you were gonna spend of the gear instead

Really bro, I dont want your money, just take advantage of being able to lose fat and keep muscle while you can. Anyways, your DIET is the only thing that will dictate whether or not you lose fat. At 30% now, unless you are a competitor bulking in the off season, I find it hard to believe that you can just switch into "perfect diet mode" while on gear to get cut up. Learn about dieting and how your body reacts to it. Then step up to gear and you will have good results.

sorry, I hope I didnt sound too harsh on you, I didnt mean to be. I just want you to understand that DIET is the key, no AS will make you lose fat just by taking them. Good luck, if you have any ?'s about diet, there are some VERY knowledgeable bros on here that can help you out. Good luck

I was in your position about 10 years ago... I was 5'10", 250 lbs., with a 40" waist... NOT pretty. I did a few things... changed my diet, watching my fat and overall calorie intake, started step aerobics at home (I know it sounds silly, but that shit works!), then hit a gym at a very off hour so as I wouldn't be embarassed.

Some suggestions:
 1.
Get your diet down on paper.

When you hit the gym, know what you're going to be doing there BEFORE walking through the front door. If you don't, you'll get discouraged and stop going.

Find a cardio activity that you enjoy: swimming, biking, running, walking, ANYTHING to get your heart rate up and moving.

DON'T step on the scale more than once every two weeks... otherwise it can be very discouraging not seeing any changes -- which WILL happen!

Hope this helps!

Take it easy. The guy asked an honest question.

I have never been in your position and don't really have anything to add to what the others have said. That said, welcome to the board. I hope you stay. There are a lot of knowlegeable people here.

It's alpha lipoic acid and it's an antioxidant that you can get pretty cheap at Walmart. Take 600mg before your meal.

Yes on the ALA I just jumped on the bandwagon. www.kilosports.com - cheap source of it.

I battle with the same issues and really the main things are diet and cardio. Cario being the hardest. Once I have my routine down it becomes less boring - Music(headphones) helps me out in this area.

Most will say to do the cardio after your lifting. While I agree with the reasons, I do not think they apply when trying to reduce wholesale BF.

My current routine, to force myself to do cardio, is to pay the cardio gods 30 minutes before I lift.

Conditioning I am learning plays a big part. If you are a big guy, with high BF , you can lift all day long and it wont help the situation much. You will get stronger but not leaner.

And diet as every one said. Diet meaning change your perspective on eating.

Ratsu
I dont have alot of money to spend on ALA so at each meal I take anywhere from 200mg to 600mg of ALA depending on the amount of carbs. I usually try for about 200mg per 25g carbs, but that is just a number that I like to shoot for(no theory behind it) I am on a lower carb diet so it varies but I usually take in about 800-1400mg a day. Dont know what everyone's opinion is on this but it seems to work fine for me. Just throwing out some ideas....

GymRat, I too was there! 6'1", 250lbs, 46" waist at 31. Said the hell with that. Dieted hard (1500cals day) and TONS of cardio, 1hour 6 days a week MIN. in 12 months I went down to 170lbs, 31" waist.

After that I got into bodybuilding. 3 years later I was up to 200lbs, 33"waist, MUCH Better.

Well after starting gear a bit over a year ago, I am 238, 35" waist, not to bad, but folks are really starting to comment on my size, many are suspicious at this point.

oh well
