Coughing fit

Well I just had an interesting experience. Just got through injecting 2cc's into my right glute (1 of Cyp, 1 of EQ). Right after I pulled the needle out, I went into a coughing fit for about 5 minutes, almost non-stop. It was all I could do to stop myself from throwing up. My face got all hot and i was sweating everywhere. Then it stopped and I was fine. What the hell happened? I aspirated the needle and got nothing but suction and some bubbles. Should I have cause to worry?

Sound like you went into shock,(which can cause many different symptoms) your body can go into shock from ANY foreign substance entering your body, and in some rare cases people have died, it occurs sometimes in injecting A/S when someone gets all worked up before adminstering their injection, in most cases First time users. If your getting worked up before the shot try yo relax yourself take some deep breaths, dont work yourself up.....Otherwise i havent got clue other then it being some Garage Lab made Juice, Which i hope its not. Since you are a member and you have access to all this great INFO

I dont know about injection induced "shock", but there is a known condition called Vasovagal Syncope where patients have been known to exhibit decreased levels of consciousness (basically sweating, fainting, bradycardia aka lowered heart rate") following an injection or IV Catheterization. Its the same mechanism that causes some people to pass out from the site of blood, etc. I witnessed it once in all the years I was a medic...

Just a little note about this: Coughing fits are listed as one of the side effects on the sheet that comes with my cyp (Upjohn).

You may have passed THROUGH a vein and when you withdrew the needle, some of the juice may have "leaked" back up through the injection "hole" into the vein and passed on into the lungs causing your coughing fit. Just a possibility?

you aspirated, but could it be a possible that after you aspirated you moved or inserted the needle even further and hit a blood vessel and injected. That's how your sysmptoms sound, when you inject into a blood vessel isn't your body's immidiate reaction to cough and try to flush everything out by coughing. It could also be that you are alergic to that type of brand.

Yesterday I had kind of a similar expirience. I did a quad injection but I inserted the needle too hard and hit a nerve, I've hit nerves before but never that hard, this thru me off and I forgot to aspirate. Well I was in the middle of injecting and I don't know what I was thinking or for what reason I decided to aspirate right there, so I did and naturally I saw blood drawing, I didn't panic, but my immediatly reaction was to take the pin out, so I did. When I was drawing up blood I felt the whole taste of fina in my mouth and like someone was sucking air from the inside, I also got really hot headed and started sweating, a little cough and everything rushed into my head for about 3 secs and it when away. This was probally due to the fina making close contact with a blood vessel. Then I just relaxed for a minute and injected again. First time this has ever happen to me.
