My typical recipe:
1lb of strong bread flour
a generous helping of wheatgerm powder stuff
50g butter
a splurge of olive oil
a teaspoon of salt
a dessert-spoon of molasses sugar
a generous splodge of honey
one packet of powdered quick-acting dried yeast
one cup of water or water and milk
I'll add more liquid if I feel that it needs it
One of the nice things about home-made bread is that it's so delicious that forgetting the yeast is no real impediment to enjoyment of the end result.
Sometimes I'll add grated cheese or mushed bananas or olives and sun-dried tomatoes.
