24hr urine is where you collect all of your urine from a 24hr period into a large pot

That way it measures a 24hr average level of each hormone - rather than a bloodtest which gives you an immediate snapshot of the hormones in your blood at the time the sample was taken.

Some hormones are released in a circadian natural rhythm so a 24hr urine is the best way to account for this. Otherwise if you simply have one blood test how do you know you're not measuring at the highest or the lowest point of the day?
