Many people puke after completing this test that puke-buckets are positioned throughout the test room. I did some research and stats showed only 2 out of 10 women pass this test and that's not even on their first attempt. I put together a solid training program to attack this test in all it areas: obstacle course with vertical jumps, horizontal jumps, direction changes, up and down flights of stairs all for 6 laps, a controlled push station for 10, a controlled pull station for 10, modified squat thrust for 10 (do a sit up-vault over a 4 ft bar-do a push up when landing) and then once you are cooked and ready to throw up you have to pick up a weighted torso bag that weighs 120 lbs and carry it for 50 ft. If you drop the bag at any point or don't set it down in a controlled manner you fail the whole thing. I cruised through the test and felt like a million bucks. I was the only girl in a group of 15 being tested in that time slot. Some of the guys failed which left me feeling pretty damned pumped. I NEVER let go of that feeling of physical success....it turned me into the lifting junkie that I still am today. Training for and passing this test 5 years ago was the turning point for me to stick with and enjoy HARD training. I hope your training journey for your own tests does the same for you. Give your all Elle and you'll be amazed at what you can do! Plan and train properly for you type of test and you will KILL it!

WOW! WOW! WOW! That is spectacular! The test you did sounds like the one involved in the actual academy AFTER you pass this initial one!

There's a huge shortage of correction officers here in my area (Pacific Northwest). I heard lots of folks have a hard time even the basic pushups and sit ups.

You're totally right about just the training! Right now it's the part of the application process I'm most excited about so far. That AND the prospect of earning a paycheck for the first time in over 6 years!
