As soon as I get up and mobile the pain totally subsides. Not sure if ice is necessary then?

Yup, its in the joint...tendons/muscles feel fine. As for glucosamine, it didn't do much for me. I'm 35 with arthritis...I have a feeling 50 is going to feel ugly.

Hadn't thought of this...you might be on to something Bev. I have impingement in my shoulders and the sensation is somewhat similar although no tingling or pins and needles.
