Trazodone has been known to cause priapisms (painful erections for prolonged periods of time... not a good thing!!), including potential for permanent erectile dysfunction and impotence. This doesn't only happen to men. So, beware... Not saying don't take it, but I'm sure this potential side effect is something most of you men and women would want to avoid. Doctors are supposed to warn you of this, but I'm sure many don't.
I would never recommend Ambien. I got a prescription because I wasn't sleeping after my latest shoulder surgery. I think the combination of that and Valium was what made me sleep. Alone, I don't necessarily sleep and almost always hallucinate. I usually take Benadryl to force myself to sleep, but hate the hang over afterwards.
