I'll talk to my doc and let you all know what's what. That Trazidone sounds like it may be the next step. Part of the trouble is that I'm addicted to my sleeping pill now and that part sucks!! I just need stronger stuff!! SS, RB
P.S. GT, Jack and Coke gets me wired, not tired.

My Cpap is calibrated to 16. I get annual checks to make sure the "16" is where I should be.
I can appreciate the others suggestion certain meds.....but the Sleep Apnea issue puts things on another level. So you have to consider the Cpap and meds to take and not just meds. If the machine is not calibrated correctly and you fall into a deep sleep as the result of the meds......you may not wake back up bru. Remember we have periods where we stop breathing. Without the Cpap, when I stopped breathing, my body would shake or whatever to start my breathing again. Taking Meds may hinder or retard this process if your Cpap is not set properly.
I am no sleep guru, but i had a friend die as a result of this sleep apnea thing, so I take this very seriously. Unfortunately for him, he forgot his Cpap for a trip and never woke back up.
I have been using my Cpap since 2000 and even had two procedures done and still not right. Oxygen levels are extremely low (see my post on my blood work) and this shiat is really effecting my health.
I say to get another study done FIRST and then consider another sleep med.
and oh....it is approx 4am on Friday. I have been back up since 245am.....so I can relate to your not sleeping issue. even with the Cpap, I get 3-4hrs of sleep per night. IMO a lot has to do with anxiety about not waking up. My Doc wants me to take Welbutrin to try and relax.
Prolong lack of oxygen and inadequate sleep issues can cause health probs bru. Again, go see your doctor.
