It's often cited as being a precursor to oestrogen and to testosterone. My understanding is that it's two steps removed and actually converts to androstenedione and androstenediol, which can then convert to the desired hormones. Whether DHEA has benefit might depend on how the body was already situated with respect to these hormones and how readily it converts them on. If you have low aromatase, for example, then conversion to oestrogen is going to be low.

Sounds like quite the gamble. Why not just juice? Isnt dhea gona be illegal soon anyway?
