Then run with it. Vegetables are nutritous and generally low cal. Don"t know about the diabetic thing playing a part. Can't think of why it would, just off the top of my head. There are a few members here who have to deal with that issue though, and they may have some ideas. I can understand the starchy carbs, but not the oatmeal.
